    Hmmmm!!!!!

Thanks, miserable one! Seriously, I know your comments are appreciated! Good on yah mate!
The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)
  • Yes, that may be, but I can't afford to wait for some FSA guarantee to cough up....I need it by close of play today , or I've some serious trouble ahead..which is why I transferred it 10 DAYS AGO!!!!

Sorry, as far as I know, the bank defaulted and only recourse is payment by the FSCS. You may have a claim against Kaupthing, the FSCS and ING for any loss you have suffered. I am no lawyer, so could not say.

...don't let the illegitimate ones grind you down....

I have read most of todays threads and no reports of money received into Halifax yet (including myself). Too late for BACS now, would have been in this morning. Hopefully a CHAPS in the next hour or so!

The claims for damages for loss of this or that....well I am sure there could be some basis for that, first against Kaupthing for the original default, butr theyre not trading. Against our FSA...perhaps agianst ING, prhaps.....for not doing enough!......I dont know. I am no lawyer, and am not sober either! I dont want to think about it.

I am sure we couldn't claim anything. KE is the company we had a contract with and they don't exist anymore. Normally when a company (like ING) acquires another company (like KE) then they acquire all of their assets and liabilities too and therefore we would have been able to sue ING for damages as a result of KE's actions.

However, this is not the case here. If you look carefully at the wording, ING have not acquired KE. "UK Treasury has taken action to protect your savings, transferring all individuals’ UK savings balances from Kaupthing Edge to ING Direct". I am certain the move has been structured in such a way that ING are not picking up any of KE's liabilities (other than owing the KE customers their money.)

Well, it's 2 o'clock I am off to check my bank account, let's see if the 2pm rumour is correct.

    Nope, not there....
  • Normally, I resist postng unless I think i can offer something constructive. This post is a definite exception. This is purely a release....

    AAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!

I made two transfers - one on 6th (registered n the 7th) and one on the 10th. Neither have hit my Lloyds account.

My friends each have kaupthing accounts and made trasfers after me and both have received their funds this morning (not that I am bitter).

I have been able to stay pretty positive thorugh this but for some reason I am cracking now.

It isnt anything like the kind of sums many of you are talking about but it is all I have and well..... ARRRGGGHHH!

    Thanks.
  • Know the feeling.....been trying to stay calm and stress-free for the past 10 days...

...but it's killing me now !

Still can't understand why some people have received their money back , and yet others haven't who did the transfers before them....
