  • I dont want to be a spoil sport.....but their announcement says a small number of manual transactions........immediately I ask how small?.......are we the ones that will not get done by Friday?.......after all, we are just a few of us here compared to the 160,000!

I've chosen not to worry about this until 6pm on Friday. Actually I'll be in the pub then - make that 9am on Monday.

I think some people gave more than one transaction instruction, I imagine they have to sort them separately

Small number of manual transactions ?
    Will that be CHAPS?
  • Right, as obsessed with this thread as I've become, I'm not going to look at it again until Friday afternoon. If I do, I'm likely to be fired.

Will be thinking of you all (even though you're all complete strangers who I've never laid eyes upon) on Fri when the "Big Payback" is scheduled to start.

    Ta-ta!

With the latest ING news page, http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/kaupthingedge.asp I think it is time to wait until close of business this Friday 17th October and see if our transferred money has arrived in the linked accounts.
This is the most positive news so far.

What will happen now to this thread? I have become addicted to it & read it at every spare moment - hours of "wasted" time! It stops me worrying about "where is my money & when will I get it?" Two BACS request wed 8/10 still nothing of course. I've been really entertained - if that is the right word, probably not. Saddened by other's stories, laugh out loud at some posts, & I have really learnt loads of stuff. I feel I know lots of you personally (& did see 2 of you on TV - well done!)

Do we all sit back (well get on with real life) until Friday or what?

Thanks to everyone for support & information about all the stages we've had to go through - hope it will soon be over!

LOL at this... im starting to worry about myself, I too am being entertained by this thread and the fact ive got £35k f'knows where !

Again, I reiterate, I have no current deadline that I need my money for and I genuinely feel for you guys who do

Probably a good idea but not sure I can be that strong. LOL.

Forgive me not reading the 111 pages to check if this has been covered before, but...

Has anyone explored the idea with ING of them just cancelling our CHAPS payment and putting the money back how it was?

I for one would be quite happy with this. Had I known about the ING takeover, I wouldn't have withdrawn the money in the first place!

The real worry for me is that the money is currently nowhere to be seen, but to see it in my KE account again would be a major improvement. Maybe this would be easier for ING to push through? From their perspective, they'd keep a customer with lots of money in the account rather than just inherit an empty account from KE.

    Just a thought.

Unless its a no-go, I might try calling them tomorrow to see if that's a possibility.

Already explained in previous posts....they mean where a transfer request has been duplicated.

Chippy99 - Look here for the latest ING news http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/kaupthingedge.asp
They state this Friday at the latest, so no need for cancellations etc.
