I would say I'm 80% sure it will be there by close of play Friday... it is the first definite date weve been given.
I cant wait to be able to see all my cash online again... its not just my KE money in limbo, Ive been moving lots of cash to safer IMO places... it will be a real novelty to be able to go online and see it all again!!0 -

Many people are saying ING will get round to sorting out the lost in the ether money being debited pre 8 Oct 08 from their KE accounts and not turning up in the destination account. However, when I speak to ING about this they state they have no KE records and my transaction number means absolutely nothing to them. I have to therefore question how are they going to repay/ complete my BACS withdrawal I initiated on 4 Oct 08. That said some communication from ING would be nice.
Excuse me but this is cause for concern and I doubt we will see our money until at least next month or even later. If it comes earlier I will gladly eat my words and take everything back. However, consider another question how did ING take over/Buy KE on 8 Oct 08 at this time the BACS debits would possibly not have shown as assets or debt on accounts but since then possibly is it that ING now realise the massive debt this was and KE have previously spirited this money away to iceland pre 8 Oct 08?
If the worst comes to the worst I have also asked FSCS how long I have to give ING to pay this BACS transfer before claiming under either FSCS or the european dutch terms. I will post my reply if I get one!0 -

Thank goodness for that. LOL. I was really confused.:D0 -
What will happen now to this thread? I have become addicted to it & read it at every spare moment - hours of "wasted" time! It stops me worrying about "where is my money & when will I get it?" Two BACS request wed 8/10 still nothing of course. I've been really entertained - if that is the right word, probably not. Saddened by other's stories, laugh out loud at some posts, & I have really learnt loads of stuff. I feel I know lots of you personally (& did see 2 of you on TV - well done!)
Do we all sit back (well get on with real life) until Friday or what?
Thanks to everyone for support & information about all the stages we've had to go through - hope it will soon be over!0 -
This has been posted in here already but wanted to reiterate it
ING Direct called and asked if we could post this on the forum for them to legitimate it. Hope it helps ease some worries
Update 18.30 14 October
In case anyone hasnt seen the update yet from ING Direct, the following message has now been posted for ex-Kaupthing customers
PAYMENT UPDATE
We have been working hard to restore normal service for Kaupthing Edge customers and resolve the issues around delayed payments.
In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.
Once again we apologise for the inconvenience and distress this delay has caused. It has taken us longer to resolve the issues at Kaupthing Edge than we expected due to the significant disruption caused when the business was taken into administration. Understandably, customers have been asking for clarification on when this issue was going to be resolved, but this is the first time we have been in the position to give firm assurances.
Thank you for your patience and we can confirm that customers will not lose interest as a result of this delay.Former MSE team member0 -
im not sure it will.... hence the 'if' in my sentence and an undecided smiley

Thanks smitty, just read brinoz's post as well.
Trouble is I get in from work stressed, log onto KE and my bank account and yet again no money and to be honest there's not enough time in my manic life to read every post. Still, hopefully friday will be the day, or before if we're lucky. Trouble is, I need the money quite desperately now for my business cashflow and it's starting to cause me real problems. I am waiting for just over £50k and to be honest there is no way I will ever use ING in the future. It has taken them over a week to give any indication of timescale.0 -

Oh, I am sure we can think of something to post about. LOL. How about, when we get the money, what we spent a bit of it on, I know I am off out shopping with a bit of it. Maybe a night out too.0 -
I agree. And the fact that they've given us a definite timeline has lifted my mood hugely.
:j:beer::dance:
I dont want to be a spoil sport.....but their announcement says a small number of manual transactions........immediately I ask how small?.......are we the ones that will not get done by Friday?.......after all, we are just a few of us here compared to the 160,000!....Illegitimi non carborundum
...don't let the illegitimate ones grind you down....0
