all the council stock has been given away, the fact our grandfathers died for this country means nothing with regards priority.the left wing councillors gave our housing stock to immigrates above our own people shame on you you gay baggy jumper tree hugging !!!!!!!s
Why has this 18 month old discussion been resurrected by a one post wonder moaning about "immigrates"?Been away for a while.0 -
That is a grade A troll post. As the old saying goes don't feed the troll it quite clear from his language that he's a troll.0

I have been a lurker on this site for a few months now and finally decided to sign up and post something myself. I hope I have put this is the correct category.
I'm just curious, those of you that are lucky enough to live in a council home:
how did you get it?
We were living in a 2 bed house had a 10mth old and a newborn baby the house we were privately renting had damp in and environmental health came to see it and said it was not suitable for the kids. We applied to council to be considered for a house and were the added t list for a 3 bed house.
what were your circumstances at the time?
I was a SAHM and hubby worked full-time and we had 2 children under 1
how long did you have to wait to get one?
We waited 6 wks - We were homed incredibly quickly!
when did you get it? ie a few years ago or 10-15 years ago when there were more about.
8yrs ago this autumn.
Many Thanks
Hope that helps but I don't think its right to lie/cheat your way up the list as the list is put in order or need and priority and for you to cheat the system so to speak means someone in greater need than you loses outWe never lied or exaggerated our circumstances and it was my MIL who called the EHO as we were busy with the small children at the time. There isn't the amount of social housing that there was years and years ago unfortunately so not everyone can have a council/HA property.
I wihs you well in getting a home through a council/H.A but please don't cheat the system as you are only delaying a home for someone who needs it more than you. In time your turn will come
ClaireWife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

I am sorry but i have to say this post really got me annoyed i would love to be able to go into the bank and set up a direct debit to pay my rent - unfortunately at the moment i have to rely on housing benefit through no fault of my own.
I live in a privately let house nothing fancy but its fit for purpose and that is the main thing as far as me and my family are concerned. When i lived with my parents i grew up in a council house and i have to say that the area i lived in was full of people who worked and didn't rely on any state handouts.
I know i have to at the moment and i get very little help from the government despite being out of work they class my partners student loan as an income despite him having to pay for his tuition out of this so i get next to nothing if i am honest.
My gripe with this post is why should you want a council house just because they are there, is the nation that greedy that they should take away homes from people who genuinely do need them?0
