I think that is fantastic Sue, your sons will always remember what you did for them and gave them an amazing start in life which thay may not have got if someone else had been there mum.
I am also on benefits due to illness and it does bug me when people think that we do it for the fun of it!!! but they don't understand that this is not the case.
I am very much a old fashioned mum aswell, if fact alot of my friends are I am very disaplined but the modern way of disaplining aswell, Im a no smacking mum too.
I do think with a mum like yourself Sue you son will supass what the medical peeps all think and live an independent life, there was a true movie where a family were told that their severly Autistic son would never do anything for him self not even feed him self as he was locked in his own silent world they refused to believe this and worked tirelessly with him, they proved them wrong by age 5 he was an independent little boy going to a mainstream school.0 -
A right sorry hun, I am 23 and they unfortunately did not teach budgeting and still don't I really wish they did though as I would not have to be learning it now, young people at the moment leave school without the basic life skills obviously Maths and English is a requirement but so should life skills be.
Cooking at my school was once every 2weeks for 50mins then after 3months you moved on to another "Tech" i.e wood work and such not.
I agree, basic financial management should be taught in schools. Like I say, it was in mine, and I think it should be standard.
My son is only 3, so doesn't obviously do much housework yet, but he does help take his own plates / cups into the kitchen, put his dirty clothes in the basket, put his toys in the playpen and books on the shelf, that kind of thing. He also "helps" with sweeping the floor and loading the washing machine, and it only take three times longer than if he didn't help!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Ah that is lovely neverdespairgirl, your young lad will grow to be a fantastic young man who will know to do things for himself, you and singlesue are installing fantastic life skills in to your children and you should feel proud of what you are doing for them!
Basic financial management should be standard, I totally agree with you there.0 -

SOd for himself, I'm training him up so he can bring me a cuppa in bed in the morning as soon as possible (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
:rotfl:
There is that too neverdespairgirl although be careful the over enthusiastic child bringing you a cup of tea...my middle son dropped my tea all over my arm last week and badly scalded it, it's been daily trips to the hospital for dressing changes even since!
It has been a rather bad week really......:rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

How many people on the housing list have been to see their MP about the issue?
Write to the papers, speak to the MP, the more people who do the more chance it has of being made a priority.
However social housing in Oldham means them spending 2M on 6 houses. Yes you heard it. They want some 4 and 5 bedroom houses ...
So rather than taking 20 families off the list with 2M newbuilds they are going to house 6 families.
Should big families get priority?0
