Unfortunately they will find out if you lie about a claim, Not good as you can be charged with Fraud and find it very hard to obtain insurance any where, once you lie and they find out they blacklist you, if you worried about your insurance being high go on confused.com I got a yrs insurance for £260 with protected no claims and Legal cover I saved over £200, you can get the best deals if your insurance is due within a few weeks of doing the search.
And for the record I am not having a "Go" at anyone I am just giving a bit of helpful advice please do not take offense to anything I say.0 -

No, not necessarily - it just makes you a liar and a thief.
(And not a particularly bright one either, posting it as you do on a public message board)
Now, if we might go back to something you said earlier; how can you say that it's justified to take advantage of the system and blag a few quid off your insurance premium, when you've already complained about:MoneyMiser wrote: »drug addicts and immigrants taking advantage of the system.
Or, indeed:MoneyMiser wrote: »that Afghan woman who was living in the 7 bedroom mansion and the council was picking up her £12,000/month rent, whilst hard working families are being turned away!!!!
Surely - to you - it should be just tickety-boo for those kind of thing to happen, because they're playing the system just like loads of others, and looking out for number one?
Doesn't make much sense to me - any chance of a bit of a clarification?Oh come on, don't be silly.

When I say 'lie' I dont mean that I tell them I drive a Fiesta when actually I drive a Porsche (I wish  ) or that the car has a top of the range alarm system when it hasn't. All I mean is the little hidden costs such as annual mileage, what the car is used for etc

How can you lie about what the car is being used for. All social and domestic policies cover you for driving to and from work. If you work 9 to 5 and then go out in your car doing an errand for work and have an accident at 11am. The insurance company are quite within their rights to ask why your car was being used. They can then, if they suspect it was being used for business purposes, ask your employer. Are you expecting your employer to lie on your behalf and say you took your lunch early!
A lot of insurance companies prefer a driver that does travel especially on motorways. More accidents happen doing a short journey than they do on a long one.0 -

Then maybe I am a liar and a theif, thank you for pointing that out to me. I hope you feel better now. Yes this is a public forum but how would my insurance company track this back to me?
I really dont think those things go hand in hand and with us talking about insurance now we are missing the whole point of this thread but to clarify, I said you can save a bit a of money if you tell an insurance company a few porkies or a different angle on the truth. Why do you think the national newspapers reported on this Afghan woman and continue to do so, even going as far as to what she owns in her living room? Is it because they are racist? No it is because every person coming into this country seems to be getting a better deal than the hard working citizens who were born here and maybe the newspapers believe that in times like these we should be looking after our own.
People take advantage of this country and its beliefs all the time, whether its immigrants getting what they want, a family of 16 living off the social or criminals pleaing guilty and getting a lesser sentence. It happens everyday.
Like I said what about the companies taking advantage of the system to 'screw' the average joe. i.e. not paying out on insurance.
The OP was lambasted by you just because she considered telling a few porkies to get on the housing ladder and to make a better life for her family.
With your high and mighty attitude you may be living in a bubble where life is perfect, but here in the real world, everyone is looking to screw someone.

Like you, trying to screw the insurance company.
Your attempts to justify fraud are laughable, you've a damned cheek invoking the name of the "hard working citizens who were born here" to try and defend your comments.
Pathetic.
(NB: I'm not for one second saying that someone not born in the UK should have the right to freely commit crimes, and I would hope that nobody would ever suggest that I would. Indeed, I would certainly regard a foreign liar and thief with just as much contempt as I regard you, MoneyMiser)
Oh come on, don't be silly.

Exactly
I'm not trying to defend my comments as that is what they are MY comments, MY opinions and MY views.
Do you really think I care what you think of me. Trust me I will sleep very well tonight because at the end of the day, all the luxeries I have in my life I have worked hard for and to be honest you can sit behind your computer an judge everyone you want to but that aint gonna make your life any better.
I do pity you though, it must be a sad lonely life you have if all you can do is comment on other peoples morales and lifestyles. One day when your sat atop your perch, someone or something is going to come along and screw you, and when you have been knocked off your perch you will think 'why me?'. I just wish I was there to see it.
Anyway, dont want to get into petty arguments, as this thread has already lost the point and I have other threads I can comment on where I can actually help people. Feel free to have the last word I know it means a lot to you. Go on, I dare you :rotfl:

You think the anonimity of this forum will protect you from investigation?
I'm betting it wouldn't take too long to research some of the info you've provided and identify you by someone with the correct knowledge and access to the systems that are available to fraud investigators.
No matter what your opinion may be on the subject, providing false OR misleading information to an insurance company is fraud. Read your policy it's in the small print.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Maybe, but then I dont really provide any personal information on here. To many fraudsters :rotfl:
Anyway who said I have lied to my insurance company, you show me on here where I have stated that I get a cheaper deal because I have lied. Thats right I haven't. Pointless going on about this now so lets leave it aye?
Oh and on a side note Joe Calzaghe is a bum who hasn't fought anyone of any real merrit throughout his whole career. Ricky has fought the best and win or lose has earned more respect than Joe ever could imagine.

Wow its like being back at School it really is!
Everyone on this forum seems to pick on someone because there opinions are different to your own, or they want something out of life that is better than what they already have, what i've read in this thread is nothing short of bullying I seriously think you should all give it a rest as this is NOT the pupose of this forum, the OP's question was "Is it still possible to get a Council House" not why is every one and there cousion claming benefits or an Afgan woman geting a £1.2m house paid at a rate of £12000 a month, which i must add was a rent set by the goverment not her or her landlord!!! or having a go and someone because they have said their millage is lower than it really is I think MM already knows whats a lie and whats the truth she doesn't need everyone pointing anything he/she says or hasnt said get over yourselves everyone seems to be so self rightous on here I do this, I dont do that, im just perfect, its ridiculous im supprised someone hasnt already reported this forum for its content and bullying!!!
I sorry if this posts causes any offense to anyone but it is becoming a joke now!!! We are all adults after all not children!!!.0
