Wow, what a response :rotfl:
So many posts to reply to I dont know where to start, i'll give it a go though.my mother also taught me that it's wrong to lie and steal
Where has she said she is going to steal? Yes she may have said she would tell a couple of white lies, but I think if we're all honest with ourselves we have all been guilty of this. For example, car insurance. People are always trying to get a lower quote by telling a few porkies, i.e. its 10,000 less on the annual mileage or where the car is parked overnight.Heh - well MoneyMiser I would be very interested if you could fine a single abusive thing I've said about the OP or her 'sister'. The OP's 'sister' has spent a great deal of time inventing unpleasant things people in this thread have supposedly said...but the problem is they actually don't exist if one cares to read the thread in detail. It's all smoke and mirrors.
As for what my Mother taught me - she taught me that you get out of life what you put into it.
What did yours teach you..... 'the abridged works of the BNP'?
What I found abusive was when you said 'Don't have children you cant afford to pay for yourself'. What gives you the right to say this to someone? What if the OP had planned the child before the credit crunch and got all her sums right? As with many families in this country they are starting to struggle to get by each month and going further into debt.
As for the BNP, I'm all for a Labour government and never give the BNP a second thought. (without trying to turn this thread into a political argument). I would like to point out though, that in a world where terrorism is always lurking and immigrants seem to get everything their own waym, the BNP gets more and more popular each year. This is a fact. I dont agree with a lot of what the BNP says but there are a few statements that I think deep down every Britian in this country can agree with.Everyone has had something genuine to say apart from OP, her sister and now YOU. Why don't you leave you have only jumped in here to defend someone not to actually offer advice. Who is cowering behind their computer? If the OP wants to ask me the same question face to face she'll get the same answer face to face. As for me having a go at OP I responded to her calling me names in a private message if you know what I replied then you must know her personally so your whole post will lose any credibility.
The reason I chose to defend the OP is because one, I had a friend who was in a similar situation. Albeit she was living with her mum and not privately and two, I am sick of the little 'cliques' on here banding together and attacking someone like a pack of rabid wolves.
Ok so the OP didn't hit all the right buttons with you lot and said some things that could get peoples backs up, but did she really deserve that kind of back lash?
Obviously I was not aware that she PM'd you an abusive message as I do not know the OP at all. If this is the case then I do not condone that either. But please dont get me wrong ... i can understand why somepeople think we have been mean or rude ... but reread hers, her '''''sisters''''' and other peoples posts defending them ... there have been far more nasty comments etc coming our way
This just sums up the fact that 'cliques' do exist on here. When you use words such as 'we' and our' you have to admit it does suggest that.
Finally I would just like to apologise for my outburst yesterday. After a long day in work some of the responses on this thread really annoyed me but I shouldn't have come on here ranting and swearing so for that, I am sorry

I have sometimes wondered what it is like to be in a clique.....no-one ever wants weird little me
:rotfl:
Just for a balance, I am one of the boring honest ones...I have never lied on my car insurance either! (Ah now I am getting the idea of why I am so boring and not wanted....I'm too blooming honest :rotfl: )
Thanks for the apology re the swearing though, must admit I felt like swearing yesterday after getting back from my sons appointment. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I am not in a clique either Sue, shall we create one for us misfits lol. Oh and again, I do not lie on my car insurance or to be honest anything else that means I will get somthing I am not entitled to.
I suppose it depends on the definition of stealing you choose to apply, I think taking somthing that does not rightfully belong to you is stealing. So only my opinion but to lie to get a council house is like stealing it from a person in genuine need.

This is theft (of the amount of money you'd otherwise pay the insurance company for the cover) though, isn't it?
Are you trying to justify insurance fraud?Oh come on, don't be silly.
It's the internet - it's not real!0 -
10,000 LESS on the annual mileage????
How far do you drive every year? No wonder there's no money left over for the essentials like booze & fags....it's all spent on petrol :rotfl:0 -

Maybe. I mean is it really theft, or is it just playing the system. For example would you tell a brand new insurance company that you had a crash five years ago when you knew that it would bump up your insurance quote by £200. Personally, and I may be alone on this, but I think quite a few people would miss this information out and save themselves £200 especially in these times.10,000 LESS on the annual mileage????

I travel to and from work so I would say I cover around 20 - 25000 miles a year. Would I say to an insurance company that I do 15000 miles to save an extra £50? You bet I would :A
Plus that £50 would get me my booze and fags for a whole month

Aaaah - so what you're saying is that it's quite alright to lie and defraud an insurance company, so long as you can personally save a few quid out of it?Oh come on, don't be silly.

AHH I want you SingleSue, you seem like a very hard honest woman who just wants the best out of life, for her and her family, I have been having alot of job knockbacks as well, due to being sick people think I am a liability which is totally not true, I'd give you a chance.
I think the problem here is that alot of people have very strong oppinions which there is nothing wrong with that, and it doesn't matter what you say someone will always have a problem with it no matter what.
The OP has done nothing wrong but ask for a the chance to be given a council house and instead of slating her we should be giving advice this is the whole purpose of this forum isnt it??? And people saying that she should go and work full time whats the point in that she will be paying more than half her wages out in childcare costs therefor be worst off.
OP if you are still reading this please go to your DR and ask for a letter to be written about your poorly chest this may help your case, there is nothing wrong with doing this and your certianally not lying, your Landlord should be taking care of his propertys because it is bad practice if he isnt and i would think about reporting him (if you are able to i dont know who would deal with this) he is not following through with his contractual agreement to maintain the property to an acceptable standard.
There is however a special Spray you can get from any good DIY stores that contains bleach and kills the mould after a couple of applications, although expensive a Dehumidifier should help get rid of the Damp as in Winter you can not keep the windows open its just not practical, whats the point in letting your hard earned money fly out the window, you can open certain windows a fraction so that it vents the rooms but does not let the heating out too much, I had to do this in my previous place as the kitchen was Damp, to the point where the Floor boards were rotten, and it did help.
And for the record not all "Council Estates" ( if that is the correct Term) are bad area's to live I live in a council house and I have wonderful neighbours both sides who cut my hedge for me, and go out of there way to speak to me, this is very much the Norm where I live you will always find good and bad in everyone please do not penalise the OP for wanting to have a council house bless her she just wants to give her little one everything she can out of life, £50 isnt a huge amount when he is needing new shoes every 6weeks or every few months grows out of his clothes.
We have all be hit by the dreaded credit crunch and we are all feeling the pinch, whats wrong with wanting the best out of life?
Another point the goverment certianally do NOT reward anyone by handing out benefits until you have had to survive on benefits you wont understand how difficult it is, I was at one point very much of the same oppion, everyone on benefits aren't on them because one day they woke up and thought "do you know what im not gonna work anymore i'll claim benefits" some people yes are afraid of work but not everyone i'd give anything to be back working earning my own money, but unfortunately I cant be!
And for the record this is not a dig at anyone this is my oppinion!0 -
I can assure I am not in a clique with anyone else in this forum. I do not think I have ever posted alongside any of the other members before in a thread.
Answers of "we" and "us" do happen when comments are made using "you" as a generalisation of one or more people as you did.
Your apology for the bad language is accepted.
Can I also point out that I have not lied on an insurance policy either. There is no point. If you say your car is parked on a drive and is then damaged on the road they won't pay out so what is the point in lying. Everyone eventually will be caught out for lying especially as Insurance companies are now doing secret filming to catch people out.0 -
avinabacca wrote: »Aaaah - so what you're saying is that it's quite alright to lie and defraud an insurance company, so long as you can personally save a few quid out of it?
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Does that make me a bad person?.... NO!!!
Are you going to arrest me now or tell me off? Look at it another way, dont we here all the time how some insurance companies try and duck and weave their way out of paying out based on small technicalities? For example, a life insurance company who won't pay out beacuse someone has had the "wrong" type of heart attack!!!0
