I think global said asylum seeksers and not Immigrants,
People from Poland , Portugal and some Eastern Bloc Countries belong to the EU and such have the right to freely move from country to country.

Well, perhaps thats the reason they give - lol :)

I believe the OP mentioned immigrants not asylum seekers but to be truthful my eyes are aching too much to re read the whole thread.

    Support the people born here

    Even if they're lying fraudsters?

Why does being born in the UK make you any less criminal, or any more deserving? I really don't get your thinking on this one.....

(NB: this is not to say that "all foreigners are tickety-boo by me", or anything like that. Just like any selection of people, some are proper crims. But then, I'd think they were a bunch of sh*ts too, just as I think true-blue, born on God's Own Island, English-as-fish-and-chips criminals are.)
Oh come on, don't be silly.

    It's the internet
    - it's not real!

Oh come on Global, how many of the Eastern Bloc, Polish and Portugese immigrants are likely to be killed in their own countries? Support the people born here - they seem to have become second class citizens in their own country. if the immigrants who get council housing were judged by the truth of their stories, I bet a good percentage wouldnt be homed! For gawds sake bringing half a dozen unrelated kids with you to claim benefits seems rife, let alone pretending they were political activists!

lmao did you just say eastern bloc .. as in russia chechnia and that mini war that nearly caused a gloabl war between russia and the rest of the world a month or so ago? nah never heard of ethnic cleansing at all there
Who gives a crap where you are born? Everyone should have the right to safe life shouldnt they?
As to the whole polish thing what a load of tosh ... theres enough brits going over there to work (now and before) buying there properties up to make money which they spend in this country - and lets face it with the whole right wing movement (with thoughts not far off what you posted) gypsies, no white people, jews etc all stand a chance at being killed in countries like that
About the only one you names is portugal ... and god knows why they would want to move here as there country is in a better stat than ours (and lets face it until a few months ago loads of brits were off over there buying up ther properties .. let alone all the ones retiring there etc)

Unlike you i dont believe in that whole its our country thing ... i consider my self i suppose an earthling (lol sounds cheesy) .... but we are all imigrants except maybe some africans living in africa .... if your taking that stance why dont you go back to rome or where ever your liniage comes from and stop trying to help people abuse the system by telling them to over exagerate?

Hi grimbo green, do you work more than 16 hours a week? If so you should definately be getting £40 a week.

Child Tax credits and working tax credits are based on the amount you earned in the previous year. Therefore OP and OH were working full time for 2007/2008. Next year 2009/2010 will be based on OP and OH have earned this year which will be £21k before Tax so next year their credits will go up although it might even out because they will then lose the baby element which pays more.

I completely agree with you, and some other posters, that if an 80 year old single person is living in a 3 bedroomed house, then whilst it is unfortunate if they have to move it is more unfair to expect a couple with 2 children to continue living in a 1 bedroomed flat because there is literally nowhere else to house them, just so someone can keep their memories.

I also think that if you earn over a certain threshold you should not be entitled to social housing, and if appropriate should be forced to move out.

Just the same as people who are claiming benefits should not be allowed to have £6,000 in savings etc. (Lots of working people do not have savings of any kind to fall back on). Or how about people who have a personal pension should not be allowed to have a state one aswell.

Go back to Rome??? Dont follow that one.

You are probably not aware that there are towns in East Anglia where a large proportion are Portugese. There have been a number of riots in those areas. There are even shops/cafes with notices saying "NO English allowed" LOL. So not sure who are the racists in that situation.

Anyway, who said OP was lying?

I think its sad that the OP is getting so much flack when Im pretty sure if an immigrant in the same situation came on here asking for help people would be bending over backwards to advise.

well the chances are your not a pict desendant so you are one of those imagrants/invaders kids so the people you are moaning about are infact your distant relatives.
Nope i wasnt aware of it as that is a pretty rare thing but instead of moaning about a few portugese people (and tarring all portugese with the same brush that are over here) why not find out why they have those signs up and get them taken down .... id wager money on it that they were either a !!!!!! before or had some im a brit !!!!!! make them feel the way they do now

nice how you dropped the whole eastern block thing though guess from now on you wont moan about them coming over here now that you are aware of ethinic cleansing over there?

and i didnt say she was lying ... i said she was winging and moaning and yet quite happy to do the same as the people she seems to depise like her bil and rip off the hard working tax payer when there are realy people in need and debt

  • If the op wasnt winging and needed help and was willing to help her self i would be the first to offer... just like a would an immergrant or anyone else in need ..... but shes not willing to help herself and has double standards

The help she does need is infomation on how to sort an landlord out that wont fix up his/her place, and infomation for local courses or online courses, help working out how to catch buses and possibly help claiming more child benifits/taxfree stuff and any other way she could boost her income

right now she is getting the same help someone unemployed from me would get .. sort yourself out there are jobs out there if you really want a job/money ... they may not be ideal etc but it has to be better than not having one?

Shes not in debt has spare money, apart from asthma shes healthy .... why exactly does she need help especially with some of the comments shes made?

Being turned down for a council flat was the making of my life. It forced me to change jobs, move to a cheaper area, and save up to buy. If that had not happened I would probably still be living on some rubbish London estate.

As for lying on the application, everybody does that don't they? It is normal for the pregnant teenager to get her parents to pretend to throw her out to move up the list, or to exaggerate medical symptoms and get a doctor's letter. That's not a myth, I've seen it happen. I even know one father put a for sale sign up outside his house get his daughter housed quicker.

Council housing used to be for the "respectable" poor, but is now for any lying chancer on the dole. They're welcome to it, and your children will have a better future in private accommodation.

While in this prolonged recession... benefits wont increase alongside inflation.... and the mothering soceity we have at the moment where people can get a roof over their heads, food, clothes and education for nowt.... will end.

I dearly hope so... for darwinism should really support those who are successful, intelligent, motivated to have children... hence to increase the human evolution... except our soceity does the opposite... those with a big council house could have 6 children+... but could the same be said for the people in the OPs situation where even 1 child is difficult???

We are in for hard times... but its needed to cleanse the unwilling, the lazy, the scroungers..... life is about to get harder, and hopefully people will have to work for their way in life... whether it be just to survive... or to afford to have kids...

Im not moaning about a few Portugese, I was pointing out that there lives are not at risk in their own country (apart from the stag weekends of course). There are many thousands of them btw, not a few and I rather like them actually :) But the point was that you dont have to have a life threatening situation to come here and be homed as you suggested.

My ancestry is Nordic and Jewish, so it covers a bit of a spectrum, no free house in central rome on offer unfortunately.
