New forum for Icelandic banks

how about a new sub-forum for "Icelandic Banks", given the high levels of interest in them presently?0
-
why? are you worried about wearing out the forum? trust me it wont wear out.0

What do you class as old? Same question asked on a thread for the 5th time that day?

It is noticeable that the forum has been swamped by many duplicate questions and the normal posts we see have been swamped and lost on occassion. Which is a shame for those posting and the regulars who are understandably getting bored with answering "is my £10,000 safe in HSBC" for the nth time that week.
Point taken. Although I was actually referring to the point the OP made ....
'if their question hasn't been covered add it to that thread'
rather than the issue of just starting a new thread to ask the same old.
I do wonder if some people who are not very financially savvy tend to worry and panic a bit and maybe think they need an answer right away for peace of mind and they think it will be quicker to post a new thread rather than spending time reading through other threads?
Just playing Devil's Advocate, although I do accept some people are just lazy.Herman - MP for all!

There has of late been a tendency to repeat the same questions over and over again. There are dozens of threads on B & B, Kaupthing Edge and Icelandic banks. Before starting a new thread please use the search butoon on the green toolbar above to search on the topic, and chances are your question/query will have already been done to death, sorry if comes across as stroppy but I for one are getting a tad frustrated reading the same old same old. rant over.
I don't read stuff I have already read about, it save a lot of time.
That's my 'tip of the day'. Give it a try.0 -
There's another point here. This website is insanely popular, with 2million+ people getting the weekly email. That means it has quite a bit of influence. The forums are nowhere near as influential, but are still important - the 'How much can you save?' thread has 400,000 views - although quite a few of those are probably repeats. It's a bit of a concern that this forum could stoke anxiety on enough of a scale to actually add to the panic of itself. Therefore I think there's a chance the site admins may have to exercise control so as not to feed market instability.0

This forum is tending to be flooded by Icelandic bank threads - any chance of a sub-forum specifically for these matters until the heat dies down on them, one way or another ?0

Dont need a new forum. Just need courtesy from posters to read threads already running and add to those if required and the moderators to merge threads which duplicate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
