There needs to be a technical way of 'losing' threads (and quite a few posts for that matter) after a short space of time. Yes I know they disappear over the pages but I had in mind a filing system which amalgamates by subject/time. It won't happen of course because the 'categories' are made up by people themselves - there is no order in this chaos. But there must be a nice prize for the whizz kid that come up with the equivalent of a 'registry cleaner' for bulletin boards
I think in a way a forum does manage it self better than can be done by an organiser.
It's a bit like an untidy desk which is supposedly inefficient yet it works so well,
all the important stuff is at the top and be found faster. The less important stuff
ends up at the bottom and take much longer to find.
Properly organised everything would take the same lenght of time to find, but slightly longer than it takes to find the stuff at the top which is accessed most.
Caos is best?
