A new web site has been set up to deal with all Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Depositor. Currently several different forums are being used to discuss this. I suggest we all go to the new web site instead so we can combine our efforts:

".........but most [K iom savers] were wealthy........."
Where do you get this information from James ?
I for one am definitely NOT wealthy, and would guess many others are not, also, and would not appreciate being tagged as such !

All, I wrote down all the KSF(IoM) transfer routing details a month ago.
Perhaps it will be of use to anyone trying to trace recent transfers.
This was for Kaupthing Edge IoM, I don't know if the other KSF(IoM) accounts used different.

This is helpful:

If the IMF can bail out countries, then that should help Iceland. As far as I know, Kaupthing were not exposed to many toxic loans, and the Icelandic PM said that Kaupthing only failed due to the UK actions - so if they can use the IMF loans to remove the short-tem funding issues, then they should be able to ultimately pay out a high proportion of the depositors - and the IMF will likely make it required that it is not just domestic accounts.
Also, if the Icelandics do have access to loans, then they are legally obliged to honour their obligations with regard to Kaupthing now they have nationalised it.0 -

The reason I ask is that previous to the date you transferred your investment I tried and failed to transfer my own deposit - I think it failed as it was a fixed term deposit with 5 months remaining to maturity although initially I thought I could still move it with loss of interest. As already discussed on this board with another helpful user of this forum it apperas fixed term investments can only be transferred during the term under exceptional circumstances.
Your info would be appreciated.
To all other users of this forum, thanks for your posts, finding it a great help and apologies for not contributing as much as others.
It was a no notice account, thanks0 -

Manx Radio reports liquidator is in talks with some potential buyers showing an interest, but no idea yet how serious the interest is:

Firstly a big well done to everyone in establishing a community.
Going back to the in-flight BACS transfers, yes it appears that something went bump in the night. I spoke to the FSC and there are stories of some transactions being returned and not being allowed to complete! Not sure how the liquidators managed this if true and no doubt will not confirm this at this stage of this investigation.
Apparently discussions with the 3 potentially interested parties re acquisition is still continuing but if this is our only hope we are stuffed. I intend to contact my local BBC and try and get some interview out of them like depositors/victims of other Icelandic crooks.0
