I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait.Cats have 9 lives, we only get 1 so live a little! :rotfl:0 -
Davidsonsl - we did a pricerunner and found it for £79.99 from somewhere in Scotland (sorry really can't think of the company) but it was free delivery and is fab.
Wonder if washing powder will be ok in this too? I've used different brands of carpet cleaner and they've all been ok.
Good luck in finding what you want

Hi, we will be moving house soon and the house we are moving too could do with a thorough clean. I don't have a carpet cleaner....can anybody reccomed the cheapest place to buy/hire one. We have to move the day the owner moves out so one with a quick drying power (if there is such a thing) would be great. Thanks!0

Having hired a few and owned a vax in the past I am really impressed with the RUG Doctor upright carpet cleaner which I have hired a couple of times through Johnsons Dry Cleaners. Easiest machine I have had in terms of use, you simply pull it along in a straight line behind you. Fab cleaning on my carpets and quick drying as one pass is normally sufficient. Refundable deposit and about £20 for 24 hrs I think. Very strict on return times though.
Would def recommend this.0 -

Hi, what a minefield. i have a filthy marked front room carpet, due to children and food, needless to say, and think its about time i bought a carpet washer that will restore my carpet to at least half decent.
But what to buy?what is a girl to choose? Bissell or Vax? and which model? i don't want to settle for cheaper one if it doesn't get down into the carpet as well as i'd have liked.
has anyone got one that they would care to recommend to me? cheaper the better, money is a bit of an object, but will consider anything if it does the job properly.
your advice is much appreciated. :j

I have a bissell proheat carpet cleaner cost about 250 from argos really good and cleans the carpets really well . Was expensive but much cheaper than having them cleaned professionally and much more convenient than hiring one as it is always at hand when needed . If you buy one and need the detergant buy it from the idealworld shopping channel freeveiw 22 they sell 3 bottles for 19.99 one bottle in argos is 14.99 a great saving, also buy some of the oxy spray as it is a great pretreatment for difficult stains even removes blood stains from carpet. I also have a steam cleaner but the bissell is much much better for carpet cleaning.0

Forgot to say that an upright one is much easier to use than the traditional Vax style.0
