Just to say that I too have just recieved one from Comet. I too didn't get a confirmation email and was very surprised when Mr Parcelforce just turned up with it in his sweaty palms! Thanks to the OP for his spotting of this last Friday morning!! :j0

Personally, I am disgusted with the way that both Microsoft and the High Street retailers have behaved over the course of this whole incident.
I feel that people who have pre-ordered and not recieved their units should be refunded their money and told they will be contacted immediately once stock is available.
We are now starting to see suppliers who have received limited stock in the last few days, and instead of letting pre-order customers have them, they are bundling them together with a load of games and accessories that you dont want or need, and asking over £400 for the lot!
I can't help thinking the Office of Fair Trading and various consumers bodies will be looking into the whole mess after Christmas.
My opinion, if you're still reading, The consoles will be piled up in the shops in January for £200, and down to £150, by the time the PS3 comes out in spring.
I for one am going to be happy to lap up all the older XBOX games, that people will be trading into the shops in January and will consider the XBOX360 once the pricing/supplies/reliability issues are fixed.. about June I reckon.

I preordered the xbox 360 from Game online. Got the email a couple of weeks ago saying I wouldn't be getting it on the 2nd but when they were back in stock they would send a secret link where I would be able to purchase an xbox 360 'package'. So after preordering the basic xbox 360 I am now expected to buy a 'package' containing all the crap games thy bundle along with it and whatever else. This wouldn't be so bad but i discovered about 20 minutes ago that they had put up a link saying xbox 360 core package limited few back in stock (it's gone now don't bother looking) . So where's the email then to the secret site?0

I didn't think the PS3 was due until Fall 2006?0 -
giwebb - I don't think Game are switching to 'game package' I think they just worded it badly. My understanding is that they mean 'Core' or 'Full'Dear Customer,
Just to update you on your Xbox 360 order. As the X360 is released tomorrow we have had to change the status of your order so that when we do receive stock we can make the offer of a console to you as quickly as possible.
We have, as yet, not received confirmed numbers from Microsoft for further supply, but are optimistic that we will be able to send you a secure link over the next couple of weeks, this will be done in order by date pre-ordered.
As always we will keep you informed as we go forward and are doing our best to obtain one for you.
Please note if you receive automated updates these are programmed to be sent as we reach launch date and should be disregarded.
Yours faithfully
Jonny Austin

I have read that a couple of you have received the 360 today.....any more stories out there from people who are due to get a delivery today ?
Avs
I ordered mine on Friday - didn't receive confirmation - although rang on Saturday and they told me it was all OK for delivery Tuesday, sent an e-mail to be on the safe side and received confirmation e-mail yesterday saying it was all ok and they would arrange delivery.
Rang this morning because I'd had no delivery call and after over half an hour waiting on the phone told there had been a mix up and my delivery details had been erased from the order! so they didn't know where to deliver to! and they would ring me back. Had a call back then to say that the product shouldn't have been on the internet on Friday because they didn't have any hard drives in stock (?) and they weren't likely to receive any before xmas!
Anyone else who ordered on Friday - did you order the £360ish package that included the hard drive/core system and games.
Any info appreciated before I send them another e-mail.
Many thanks,0 -
I ordered mine on Friday last week and I received the whole package today including the hard drive and 2 games and the core system.
Hope this helps
