Give it half an hour or so and the status of your order will show 'Temporarily out of stock'. They don't cancel it, but they do allow you to cancel of course. It's just that if you do, and then re-order, you'll go to the back of their queue.0 -
Ordered one from Comet on Friday, it's now in my hands

Ordered two from Play........no stock - after saying they were in stock when order placed.
Ordered two from Virgin......no stock - after saying they were in stock when order placed.0 -

Just got mine delivered from the order I made on Friday through Comet. Im very happy now.
The biggest thumbs up to Snowboarder747 for letting us know early Friday morning - you've made my Christmas. Who says the Christmas spirit is not what it used to be !
Also want to big-up Comet, who have done exactly what they said they were gonna do - They know that keeping a customer happy will bring em back again and again.
Good luck to the others who pre-ordered in Aug / Sept, etc and have still not received theirs - just goes to show how greedy / dis-organised some companies can be. It is the luck of the draw for us, and which companies are foolish enough to entice too many people to give deposits. Hopefully they will learn from this and maybe Microsoft should as well and handle supplies and expectations better. I hope things work out and have a feeling that most of you will also get your units before Christmas without having to resort to ebay !!
One question - I dont have a HD TV, so what is the next best thing for visuals - A cable for SCART RGB or A cable for output to a PC TFT monitor ?

Either one of those would be okay. The VGA probably look good. On yeah, they're out of stock in most places for those cables. You'll Never Be Rich Working for Someone Else0 -
Sorry for sounding a little thick, but by "VGA", you mean the TFT monitor ?0

It depends on what sort of resolution your monitor supports? (If it's a 17in then max will be 1280x1024)
I have a Dell 2005FPW (20in widescreen) and purchased the HD VGA cable from a local Gamestation shop (The cables are like rockin horse !!!!!! to find at the minute - Trust me cos I phoned around 40 shops on Sunday morning)
My monitor will support 1680x1050 resolution so in effect I could run the Xbox 360 at its highest setting (The Xbox 360 supports the following resolutions when using the VGA AV connector: 640×480, 848×480, 1024×768, 1280×720, 1280×768, 1280×1024, and 1360×768)
When I originally connected the cable I set the res to 1280x720 (Wanted to work my way up through the resolutions to save the best until last!) and the colours looked grey and grainy and then I upped it to 1360x768 and the quality was bloody brilliant!!!
It's also worth noting the 360 will only output upto 720p using the vga cable (To get the full 1080i,assuming the game supports that res you'll need the component cable which is supplied with the Premium pack and also a component input on a HD ready TV/PC monitor)
Good luck

Thanks NickA and Kinster.
My PC monitor is 17in and will go up to 1280x1024.
Threfore, what you are saying is that there will not be much of a difference if I use this or a Scart RGB on a normal TV ?
Is this gonna be the case for Clarity, Colour and Screen update speeds ?
Thanks for your help again

I am SURE that sendit now have them in stock - I have just received an email stating that they have had to amend my order due toas this contravenes the terms and conditions on this
basically I tried to order more than one - and they cancelled the other order, leaving a single premium 360 on my order, I would ASSUME that if none wer ein stock then they would have cancelled them all??
edit - scrap that - just checked my order status on their website and it saysstatus: Temporarily out of Stock: Reordered
oh well - another dead end
Cheers
