Hi pigpen sorry to hear about your fall - I hope you are ok now - you must have had a real fright - I cant believe you managed to go back to class - what a trooper!!!

Dont know if I am totally off beam here but when you say health etc and you did mention medicine before what about radiology - they are very short of radiologists - phlebotomy/blood lab technician stuff - occupational therapy - anaethetist(sp) - or my favourite if I had my time over criminal science - like CSI!!!!!! would love that or environmental something - like the genetic testing ???

good luck with the decision making - I suppose the first thing would be to get a list of ALL the course available near you and then narrow it down -sorry I know you will have already thought of that but sometimes seeing it on paper helps and you can cross out the definite no's.

just ignore me if I am talking rubbish as per usual!!!
take it easy on that foot - I know someone who did the same and it is still not healed a year later - but she didnt rest as she was told to!!!

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine

IF MY BODY WAS A CAR...?

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ... But that's not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But here's the worst of it --

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or laugh.....

either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires
    ?!!!

Pigpen - non sentimental hugs to you (I know you don't do slushy!). Bet you gave yourself a fright!

I'm just very achy today. I can't believe how luckly i've been as both wrists, knees and my back are painful but they are just bruised so I consider myself VERY lucky!

I've had a busy day with the hospice, walking puppies and giving a friends mum a treatment as she's never had one before. I didn't take any money because i've know her for 30 years and she's just popped a note through the door saying 'I owe you one baby sitting session'. How kind is that!!!

I've not even looked at today's list but I'll have a quick nosy now.

My MACAW is working well until this morning when my children were fighting. I said...very calmly...I am taking a deep breath and then I'm going to scream. DS said 'take two breathes and I'll have time to run!!!' Little monkey. Mind you, made me laugh and I didn't snap!!

Lilysue - I love the moomintrolls - your piccies is brilliant.

    Hugs to all xx

I can cope with this list as DH did most of the kitchen on Sunday and last night so this is what's left to do...

Tuesday trauma - Kitchen and Dining Room
Dust any extra furniture in dining area
Clean out your mankiest kitchen cupboard

I'll do these later when spotty dotty puppy dog has stopped dribbling on my arm. My mum has taken the children for tea so I can put my feet up for an hour. I'm actually obeying her!!

Just one day I don't have time to read and catch up or post, and look at all the dramas!

mudbath - smart lad you have there! I hope that you feel better soon, and check out the house as if you were a Health and Safety Officer!

pigpen - I'm sorry that I missed all of yesterday's events. I'm glad that you are hopefully not seriously injured by your fall, and that most of the damage was to your dignity. You should have a local careers advisory service, we have one located in the fe college - I have to say that I didn't find it in any of the phone directories or online, and it was only because they have a huge poster in the window that I knew it was there. Free advice, and access to funding. May be worth a try.
I'll go and look at the course list. I'd agree with the other ladies who suggested giving yourself a bit of 'time off' (with a deadline of course!) and letting the ideas mill about a bit.

msd - I missed your posts too, but haven't had time to post myself!

    :hello:to all the newbies!

Okay, I had a truly horrendous day at school yesterday, and it was late evening before I felt better. I cleaned the kitchen this morning, and the living room late afternoon, although it's not perfect. I treated myself to a couple of hours off and went over to see the friend I used to garden for, had coffee, lots of chat and a walk around the garden, and feel much better now! I'm shutting school thoughts away for today, and will work out a strategy tomorrow, and then I've given myself till halfterm, and if it is no better by then, then I'll leave. Shame for those (majority) children who are delightful to teach, but the rudeness, lack of co-operation and disruption of the few is getting to me. I would have talked to the HoD, but I was so cross that I'd have cried from fury, and I don't want to do that!

DS2 is also having a bit of a bullying problem at school too - the ex girlfriend of DD's new boyfriend is choosing to pick on DS2 as she got very short shrift from DD, and DS2 is an easier target, although he's in Year 10 and tall, he's actually not particularly aggressive. She's swearing at him, calling him names, and now she and her friends are threatening to get together and beat him up if he says anything to DD. I rang the school as soon as I got home, but no-one was available, so I shall be writing tomorrow. Mother on the warpath!

Really must go cook dinner - oh, lil_me, thankyou for the link about the avatars - I tried, but still had to get DS1 to do it, and it still isn't animated! I'll have to try again.
