I have been doing lots of research into to buying satnav for my car. It will just get occaisonal use and not wanting to spend too much I am very keen on the Garmin i3 which has good reviews. However I keep hearing that the Tom Tom's are very good but how much better? Is it worth spending the extras £50-60 for a Tom Tom one or is it not worth it?0

There is a 5% code going around, so that should cover the price difference.
Check out the Voucher board, it's on there.0 -
If anything went wrong would I be able to go to any store rather than send it back to pc world online?
and do you think with these you can return if its not suitable unlike argos?
Still looking for discounts although the 5% one is better than nothing and will bring it about even with argos but I'm wondering if currys and dixons will reduce too and there are codes for 20% off vouchers for them online so not sure what to do yet. Ive emailed currys to ask if they plan on reducing thiers thoughThanx

Well I decided to give pc world a try anyway with the 5% nhs thing and went through a cashback site, hope I did i right its the first time through the cashback site and pc world. If they go down in price well so be it, I might be able to cancel though if anything drastic happens before it goes to delivery
I ordered it about 45 mins ago and havent had a conformation email yet is that normal? and I'm a bit concerned if I'm not in when they bring it what they would do wth it I wouldnt want them to take it back and charge me again for delivery
Anyway fingers crossed
Edit:
Just recieved the email, it says subject to availability so I'll go crazy if I missed the Argos offer for this then lose it... Anyway I think at least you can return stuff there if its noit suitable so thats something Argos are not doing, Never been a fan of pc world though but I'll see if they change my mindThanx

Is there a real need to spend £200+ on a map that you can see in car?
Aren't the road signs good enough to get you to where you want to go?
Do you have to plug this tomtom thingymajig into your fag lighter all the time or just to recharge it?
I'm of the opinion that after xmas they will be down to around £100ish.0 -

I suppose the true answer to this question is based on your vehicle usage. If you rarely travel somewhere unknown then a simple map would be appropriate, there are websites which can produce driving direction maps. This would then be free.
From a personal point of view I goto 20 or so unknown destinations daily and these systems take you right to the door. I can increase the number of destinations in a day by 33% and I would now not be without one.
The two main alternative benefits for me are:
1. Give you an instant indication of hazards eg bends on country roads.
&
2. Enable me to confidently make detours due to traffic / accidents and still get to my planned destination within the preset time.
This system has already payed for itself & is now making me extra money, just in time for christmas!!0
