Other things "missing" from TomTom One over the 300 are:

    - AC adaptor (for charging the unit indoors)

I think you'll find that the TomTom Go 300 also doesn't come with an AC adapter.

Can you buy an ac adaptor though for charging indoors anyway? and if so how much would they be?
    Thanx

    Yes u can, quite a few places sell them, e.g. £14.99 including VAT + £2.99 P&P:

This may not be the cheapest though, make sure you look around.

Just to let you know, ever since I've had my TomTom Go Classic, I've never actually used the home charger!!

I've noticed a few people saying the sound on the tomtom one is lower, I'm a bit concerned about this. My daughter likes to listen to music while shes driving like a lot of people so would she still be able to do this and hear the tom tom one?
    Thanx

that realy depends how loud she has her music.if she has it at a reasonable level she should still hear it ok,

the advantage with the tom tom which has a bigger screen than some is if your not sure youve heard correct u can glance at the screen to confirm the direction u have to take and how far till you have to turn etc.

u get voice directions well in advance of junctions(most of the time) so if you miss it you can tap the bottom left of the screen and it will repeat the latest message back to you or u can wait for the next warning nearer the junction etc if its an early warning youve missed.

  • I got my TomTom One from Argos the other day and got 2 * £10 vouchers. I assume that this was 1 for each £100 I spent.

If this is wrong I made up for it by forgetting about the Gift Voucher offer the day after and spending £99.98

I am using it with the volume on 80% and I can hear it clearly above my music.

As other people have said, you need to take into account the price of an AC charger and a case. These add another £40(ish) to the price.

    Hope this helps.

I'm not so bothered about the case as we have spare camera cases that I'm sure would be fine but probably later might get an ac adaptor, I thought best to see how it goes without first. Isnt it supposed to function perfectly well without an out of car charger? I thought it just charged as you drive? so you can drive any amount of time? Do you really think an ac adaptor is necessary? an ac adaptor is a charger you use indoors isnt it?

I was originally looking at ac adaptors because I wasnt sure if my daughter had a cig lighter in her car, I now think it might have but decided to just get the unit first then if necessary get the charger if she hasnt
    Thanx
