Does the one from pcworld come with the windscreen mount? or do you just get the main unit?

    Yes it does, however....

You gotta be careful with windscreen mounts, even if you remove the mount after using the tomtom, thieves are now breaking into cars that have a "ring" left on the glass where the sucker was attached to the screen!!

Police now advise you to wipe the screen when you remove the mount to remove all traces.

    Its getting worse!

  • Is tomtom One good??? Or should I pay the extra and get TomTom 3 or tomtom 5??

Sorry if this has been asked before...
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Tom Tom 1 seems pretty good... is there a better satnav system out there, with a larger screen?

I have a 6xx series Navman which has a larger screen but to be honest your not driving looking at the sereen or you'd by up the rse of the vehicle in front, you more likely to be listening to the voice prompts.

    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.
  • Fifth Gear on Channel 5 did a test of the Tomtom one v, the garmin i3, the becker, and the navamn 520
The Tomtom one won hands down!
    Good enough for me!
Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

  • Use a code found on this board for 5% off, with your quidco 2.75% and egg money 2% back you can get this down to under £200. The discount code does not work with collect at store :(

  • hello dare! :xmassign:
Currys are doing it from £259 so what i hear you say, well here`s why!
if your nipper wants a remote truck for xmas they are giving away a £99 remote control truck online with every tom tom one online, it looks really good!
Now match that with a xmas20 discount code plus you get free deliverey over £99
and you could buy it with egg money card and get 10% back
and you maybe able to go through quidco for 2%
and you cannot put in NHS192 or it reverts back to 5% off not xmas20(-£20)

whoops went one too far there!!

still for the sake of a few quid more you get the truck
actaully it comes to 209.19 and you get the £99 truck for free in that price so why bother with pc world.
yes i know you can tap in NHSdiscounts and get 5% off at pc world but you have to pay deliverey as in store pick up put deliverey back on.
I wonder if you can get a price match out of currys after the event and play dumb to the free truck offer unless they spot it as pc world is a sister company they may play ball...tell em you didnt know it came with a blimmin truck!!
    happy holidays!
Remeber you must be NHS to use these codes, not just a first aider at work. Ho Ho!!

    Hi all...

As a biker I just wondered if the TT1 would mount onto a motorbike quite easily...

Perhaps the mount would be placed on the inside of the fairing screen or directly onto the petrol tank...

Also is it "shower" resistant? I'd appreciate any feedback from owners and how appropriate they feel it may be for two wheeled use.

    Cheers
  • I suspect the TT1 would work fine on a bike but I would think you would want to stick it in a clear bag it wont be waterproof, just cut the power cable and wire it in direct.

The R/C truck is probably rubbish, and I doubt its worth £99. I got the PC World price down to just under £200 with quidco and egg money 2% back, you cant (I think) use quidco and egg money 10% back together as you have to link from one site. Having said that its a cheap pressie nonetheless.
