auto-europe.co.uk are good - they search all the car hire companies but as someone else said carjet.com are also fantastic.

Since my earlier contributions to this thread, my preference has moved from Carjet to Argus. As we keep saying, most of these websites are brokers who use the same set of suppliers. So it really is a case of 'price' being all-important.

Argus have been beating Carjet quotes consistently for me and, what's more, they have a £7.50 Quidco cashback.

EDIT: Just noticed that A-E have 8.5% Quidco cashback!

eg. Corsa/Clio inc a/c at Alicante for 14 days in April:

Argus £133 less £7.50 Quidco = £125.50.
Carjet = £169
Auto-Europe = £152 less 8.5% Quidco = £139.

Also, I have too kids an need two car seats. I was going to go with Carjet who seemed the best, though there was a 2EUR a day charge for each seat - though still cheaper than most - Avis charge nearly 7EUR a seat!!

However just before I booked I checked a few more out and found that Argus give your carseats for FREE! :j
That'll save me another 60EUR across the period of my holiday

They were also marginally cheaper, and offered the Quidco Cashback.

I've used Carjet last year and found them to be very reasonable.
I am going to Barcelona area last week of May and after checking around, an initial scourging found Auto-Europe to be great value (£135 for a Scenic for a week less 8.5% cashback on Quidco).
However I was astonished to find that Hertz have an offer on at the moment which priced the Scenic at £117.92 plus I've got a £8.00 cashback through Quidco. I think you may have to book before April 20 mind to get the offer, and the rental needs to be 5 days minimum.
You'll also need to enter the discount code which is 652945.
This applies to rentals in Italy also.
I'm quite chuffed getting a good sized car for less than £110.!!! (for 7 days that is!!)

I can highly recommend Record from Malaga airport. The staff are great and as a real bonus, being the fussy person I am.... I didn't like the car seat or the allocated car and they changed them both for me for free!!!

Just checked Carjet out but no good to me as I want to pick one up in Santander and drop it off in Girona. They don't do Girona. Back to the drawing board.
