Car Hire in Spain

Options
Hi

We are going on holiday to Spain in August and will need a car. The cheapest I have found is easyjet but the question I have is.......is it better to order car now or wait til nearer the time? Do the car hire rates increase nearer the time?

Look forward to hearing your wisdom.

Used them 3 years on the trot now - You won't find cheaper or better service!
You don't even have to pay upfront, just reserve your vehicle & pay when you collect it!

I can vouch for Carjet too.
Have used them 8 times now and still haven't found the catch!

Avis should be the cheapest if you use one of the discount codes floating abou on the forum.

I think the nearer the departure the more expensive. It usually cheaper to pay up front too...not wait until the day of arrival. However we have sometimes deliberately done that to spread the cost of the holiday.

Not with Carjet - you pay the same price if you book it a year in advance or on the day. The fewer amount of times I have to make my card details available over the www the better!

will remember that for future... :)

last few times i've booked avis through the nhs staff site...you get the discount and pay the cheaper rate on collection too.
who ever you go with its always worth reading the small print...check how you pay for fuel. Some deals seem cheaper ...then they add on their price of a full tank of petrol...

  • What is a big scam is overcharging for a half tank of petrol. When they try this one on, say you have been caught out on this before and prefer to return the car with the same amount of fuel in. Best still to go for a full tank out full on return.

  • We've used carjet.co.uk about 3/4 times now as well and can't fault them. They seem to be an agency as the hire desk you will pick your car up from, is different each time. And have been upgraded the last twice we have hired from them.
Example: We're going to Spain for a week over New Year. Easyjet have quoted £135. Carjet's is £85 and you can pay either on booking or on picking up the car. They are good on confirmation e-mails too.
    Hope this helps :T :T
  • I used Auriga rent a car, they are really good. They are located at most of the Airports in Spain and are easy to use.

    Hi there

Thanks everyone for all the help! Unfortunately I have tried the carjet site but comes in £100 more than easyjets £220. I have also tried avis with the codes but iut is still more expensive than easyjet.

Looks like I'll book with them then...

    Thanks again
