Has any one had any experience of this company
    https://www.discount-telecom.co.uk/cheap_mobile_calls.htm

It looks like a really good deal if you combine it with paying a really low monthly contract or even a p-a-y-g

    eg t-mobile monthly: https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dispatcher?pf=Call+off-peak&pp=Free+Time+750&nmid=phones_opp_ppd&ppid=23&menuid=ctl_msh_get_pd

The company behind this service is https://www.rosehillmobiles.co.uk and they have some scheme where you can register as an agent and presumably earn a percentage from the calls - probably why you found a leaflet round campus. Not sure what the commission deal is though, the website doesn't say.

  • If you call 0871 from a mobile it will cost 35p/min.
I still don't understand the best way to call another mobile (on another network) without getting robbed. You need to go via a provider like Telestunt to get 10p/min calls but as I say, the access number costs 35p/min

    jokin,
It all depends on which mobile network and tariff you are on as to how much you pay for 0871 and whether there are cheap ways to call x-network. I am on Orange Prepay, so there is no such thing as a cheap call!!

I can however call access number 07792316447 (which counts as a call to an Orange mobile) to then dial any normal landline number.

This "earns" me about 3 points per minute some how, and I can use up these points by calling the same number and then dialing a mobile number which "costs" between 2.5 and 13 points a minute, depending on the time. As I make very few x-network calls this suites me.

All kinds of daft 0871/0845/0870 earning and using points from your mobile is possible using https://www.pre-dial.co.uk Look at
    http://www.pre-dial.com/frame_earnlist.htm
It all depends what you pay for what type of call. Pre dial works for me because to dial any type of access code for a phone company (0800 or otherwise) would cost the same as the 07792 orange number I'm using to "earn" points for x-network minutes now.

This may not help, but check the site and your network's charges for 0871/0870/0845 to see if any combinations with pre-dial work.

    I've just subscribed to 18866.

The cost to mobiles seems to be 20p/min during the day.

    Has the tariff changed ?
