Aftenoon all
It's been grey & damp here all day, still we didn't need to go out for anything so have spent all day indoors.
We've just about recovered from having the grandchildren over, they were so good, only small problem was DGS kept talking about exoh, not that I mind, but he kept saying Bamps has a big house Nana & you only have a small one & Bamps has a huge garden Nana & your's is really small, why don't you have a big house too Nana? I could only reply that I liked my small house & garden, lol. Which I do, but the temptation to say 'Bamps stole everything from Nana' was strong!
I've spent most of today sewing together all the squares I crochted, I now have a huge crochet throw & it kept me warm while I sewed it.
I have been very brave today, I gave away my Kenwood Chef & my Kenwood Processor too, I gave it to DD as she has 2 children & her OH likes to cook, I have an american Kenwood mixer/processor/liquidiser/juicer all in one.
Have a good evening everyone
Hugs Hester

Afternoon
Got some winter boots - wanted some Rocketdog Hazel boots, but at £60, I was a bit  So I bought a pair of look-abit-likies for...£2
Made brownies, they are tasty. There are so many things I should be doing right now, but...I just can't be bothered. So I'm sat here with a tea and a chocolate orange (is it just me or are they getting far too sweet and sickly now) and I don't think I will move until I go to bed.
Has anyone heard about TK Maxx this week? Not only selling a jacket with a pull out knife, but also selling a walking stick with a 20" sword in!! Obviously the idea is to pull in the young crowd with the jacket...then pull in the older crowd with the stick when they have to defend themselves agaisnt the kids with the jacket! We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
PenPin, hope you don’t feel too coldy & you get ok at the hospital tomorrow.
Stefjb ((hugs)) to you & your DDs – I’m sure all of you popping in all the time will be a good deterrentJ The constant presence of others is often used by my family..!!
Marie, glad Ulick is home – even if the lounge looks (& feels) like a very steamy sauna! It will probably take some getting used to for both of you….
Mummysaver, oh, oh I must go to Brighton urgently (for Lush…!!) I desperately wish we had one here L Not the same buying stuff online, I need to smell it & feel it!
Ivyleaf, well done on winning the tickets & hope you really enjoy the show.
Redruby, I understand what you mean about your nephew – a bit of structure, support & routine to help him get back on track? I hope things work out for the best for him.
Candygirl, hope you had a good day with your Dad.
Scuzz – if you can audiotype (or want to) drop me a line….!!! No promises, but might be able to give you a suggestion.
Bootsalebabe (((hugs)))) for your DD too, glad things are a bit quieter today.
Hester – good karma will come & get you J Hope you are getting somewhere at work…
Welcome to the newbies – and welcome back to some old(er) faces too J
Our petrol here was still 118.5 a litre when I looked yesterday – I would have filled up today (as I’m on nearly empty) but my car decided it didn’t fancy starting!!!!!!! Obviously knew that yesterday I booked it in for a service in a couple of weeks & decided not to wait. Of course it started when my cousin came to take the battery out & charge it (in case it was that). Think there is a dodgy connection as it did this 6 months ago & then started 5 minutes later, and no probs ever since.. However, I joined GreenFlag breakdown via Quidco this morning anyway, so that makes me feel a bit more reassured.
Not seemed to have done much else except potter in my room giving the printer a good run (getting stuff all ready for Uni Tuesday, and also doing some research for my dissertation… due next May, lol!!)
Anyway, time for a nice cuppa I think, & chase up DD’s to make sure they have their stuff ready for school/college tomorrow.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
I dont seem to have stopped today, except for food, but I have got lots of things done that needed doing, including the bottom of my wardrobe. All my shoes seem to seperate themselves and get all muddled up, a nightmare when in a hurry, must be a shoe elf in there somewhere  :rotfl:
Also put stuff in the loft that has been waiting to go up there for ages, got loads of space in the back bedroom now, needs a good turf out now.
Well I am off to watch catch up TV for a bit, with my knitting, must get the baby bits done, and the oldies scarves finished before it gets too cold.
night all
Anne

Hi again all,
I got it.. I got my slow cooker! Just got to work out what to cook now. Out with friends tomorrow night but as soon as I get back, I shall be glued to the slow cooker threads copying and pasteing recipes.
And, in other old style news, I baked my very first batch of twinks hobnobsNot quite sure what I did but I've got half looking like proper biscuits and half mishapes. Obviously I'm doing my best to hide (in my belly!) the mishapes so that DB (boyfriend) believes I am a true domestic goddess

Hi guys,
I haven't managed to do much today, I have been entertaining the kids and helping with DS1's nintendo game and just pottering about. I have managed to strip one wall of paper in between cooking and being chief entertainer and have done the usual swipe and hoover after they have gone to bed. Just got the lunchbags to see to in a bit.
Stripping the walls was looking like a nightmare until I realised that the paper comes off a lot easier if I leave the water to soak in a little while firstThere are small gaps between the skirting and wall on what I have stripped - will I need to fill these? - any advice much appreciated.
I must say the bunk beds really are stupendous - I saw a similar one going for £300 with the mattresses - really solid, thick and chunky and my manager had also given the sheets, mattress protectors, quilts, pillows, and matching duvet sets. I think I owe her a big bunch of flowers. :T
Anyway off to sort out the lunchbags,
Pen-pin, will be thinking about you tomorrow.
Anniestar, sounds like you had a great time. :T :T
Gentle hugs to all else in need.

Hi all
Just a quickie from me. Today turned out nice, even sat outside at Costa to have our coffee! Managed to get a hat for wedding next week reduced at tie rack to £4.99!!!! bargain. OH got me some shoes......brown glittery ones with about a 4" heelI will be barefoot once we are at the reception lol.
OS wise not great, we ate out, but first time for agesssssss so was nice treat.
Also heating has been on this weekend, did post on the heating thread. (its going off again, snuggly throws at the ready!) OH's DD was here and she does not know the mean of OS and I am too tired of the aggro with her mum to go against things, so if she wants the heating on she gets it, I spose I'm a bit soft but I can't take the shrieking down the phone if I do something 'wrong':D
(((hugs))) to all in need, and congrats etc to any I have missed
cyas soon
