    Afternoon All

Horrible day here. Pouring with rain and cold. No heating on though - got a blanket over me:D

Busy looking for a second job. Mum's not happy at the thought of me getting one, but she refuses to believe my financial situation. Looked online for Tesco positions, but nothing going at my nearest store, so going to try Sainsbury's and will work my way through them until I find something.

We have a farm chicken for dinner. Saw a farmer I know at a market yesterday and he gave me a good deal on a lovely looking fresh, local bird, so feeling good about eating it. Also bought a butternut squash in Mr T - 66p. They're in season so it's the time to eat them whilst the price is lower on them.

Having DVD day, then going to see a friend this evening. He's offered to help me arrange a charity night, so will talk to him about that.

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Hi all, thanks for all the good wishes yesterday, things seemed to have settled down today DD'S OH came back yesterday afternoon and we left them alone to sort things out between them. Me and DH went off to B and Q to get a loo for the bathroom and got a toilet to go for £59.99 (had £10 off) so was pleased with that. Ordered a gorgeous basin off ebay, from the same guy i got my shower cubicle from so that wll be here Tuesday. Had our first shower yesterday and a few teethng problems, pressure etc but sorted now!!
Me and DH went to our country and western club last night , it was one of our friends birthdays so we had our own little party, it was a good laugh and it really relaxed us and cheered us up.:D
Went to bootsale this morning and was disappointed, but came away with a couple of nice gammon joints for £5 from the butcher, so they will come in handy this week.
DH is off to work at 3pm and we have just had roast loin pork with all the trimmings, DD is out with OH for the day so i am going to get caught up with ebay, got quite a few things sold this week.
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and take care all BSB xx

Not a good day to day.

Weather is rubbish. Husband returned his radio (cd/tape/dab) as not working properly and they don't do them any more  so now without a radio for the kitchen.

Dropped most of a 400g (£2) block of cheese that had been grated and put in the freezer all over the floor

Only bonus was got another 3 of the £2 chickens they had loads of them. And people where not just buying them :rolleyes:

I will stop moaning now :rotfl:

    Take care everyone

    Yours

    Calley

Cold and wet here so have relented and put the heating on. The dogs were wet after being out in the rain and I've tucked a blankie over the wimpish one so she is all snug in her bed.
I'll have to go out for milk but think the sky is not so dark so maybe, just maybe, the rain will stop.
Have had quite a lazy weekend. On Friday I made up a huge rice salad with sauteed veg which needed to be used up and then added a tin of kidney beans. I've had it FGri, Sat and again today. I am a bit of a lazy cook when DH is away and don't get tired of the same thing. Today I was cold though so cooked a couple of fish fingers to have with the rice salad - oh gournet joy biggrin.gif
Pile of ironing to do for the week ahead which should heat me up nicely.
I slept really soundly last night. DH laughs at my 'pillow man' I use when he is away (great listener, doesn't answer back hehehe) but last night I had 2 pillow men sport-smiley-001.gif. The trick is to get yourself comfy in the middle of the bed and then put a pillow at each side of you, over the duvet. This kind of 'traps' you in a snug bit, just the right size. I was warm as toast and slept for about 10 hours smile.gif
Thinking of those who are feeling down or poorly ((((hugs))))
Off to wash my hair - it's had almond oil in it so looks very fetchingly like an oil slick. This is my second Sunday of doing it - I leave it on for a few hours - very cheap from Boots and leaves my hair really soft when it's washed off.
    Take care all

Good afternoon all! Very late on here for me. Decided to take my kitchen curtains down for washing this morning, tumbled them lightly, then ironed them and they've just gone back up. Friends called in unexpectedly this morning and have not long gone so this is the first chance I've had on here. DS1 and family will be calling round later so I'm going to have a snooze on the sofa for an hour before then. The weather has been disgusting this morning, in fact all night as well. Windy and hammering down with rain. It's stopped now and the sun is trying to come out but everything in the garden is dripping wet.

Anyway, (((hugs))) to everyone and I'll be back later.

    Afternoon everyone
    Welcome newbies :hello:
Struggling a little today, had a great night last night watching the Christian Parade - the costumes, dancing, etc., were brilliant for a small town of 25,000. There is another tonight for the Moors, but DH declined that. Great tapas meal, after though a little later - the parade doesn't finish until 10 pm. Feeling a little tired though didn't get up until 10:rolleyes:
Waiting to hear from DS & GF who are frying by the pool as to our plans for tonight:eek: they never seem to know what they are doing in advance. They go home Tuesday it has been lovely having them here, and will miss them when they have gone, but ready for a break now.:o

    :grouphug: everyone :grouphug:

    Hi All,

Not posted for a while, work and life have got in the way! Cleaned the house on Friday whilst DS went to a friends after school. He got back and 7pm so a nice break for me.

Yesterday I baked bread rolls, hob nobs and fairy cakes for packed lunches. Today I have done the ironing. And have treated myself to half an hour on here.

Wet and windy today, I have the heating on but low just to take the chill out of the air.

Hugs to all those in need esp those with poorly OH.

    Hello everyone

Please don't shout :D. I had a little bit too much to drink last night at a friend's 30th birthday party and I'm now feeling a teensy weensy bit delicate. Luckily, DH drove back from York so all I had to concentrate on was breathing!

Supper tonight will be full of veges - chicken stir fry, I think. Plenty of healthy stuff....

I need to sort some things out for the clothes recycling bank. I've worn so many things to beyond repair that I need a good clearout. DH and I realised that we've been very good in previous years and haven't actually bought any new autumn or winter clothes, so somethings need replacing. My favourite winter top (which is the newest one that I own!) was 2nd hand 2 yrs ago from Ebay!

DH is just making me a cuppa, so I'd better go and make sure it's strong enough. :D

stefejb - big hugs for you and your DDs.

Penny Pincher - thinking of you

scuzz - some jobs at supermarkets/pubs/shops aren't actually advertised. Why don't you go in and just see whether they have anything or ask for your details to be put on record?

VickyA - thanks for the tip.

Just emailed someone who owes me for two months' work I did for him in the summer. So hopefully he'll pay up. One payment is over two months late:mad:

Applied for a part time job this afternoon, so fingers crossed on that one. And I've entered lots of competitions - someone's got to win right:confused:

Debating making an apple crumble. We do have lots of apples that need using up so would be a good use for them and very welcome by my stomach:rotfl:

It's quiet on here today

I've sorted out the dreaded cupboards (all non-essentials were dumped in it when I moved) - it was jam packed from floor to ceiling  , cleaned the bathroom, ripped up the carpets in the porch and replaced it with the left overs from DD's carpet - there were 4 old carpets all piled on top of each other and each one equally dirty and dusty  I dismantled some tall shelves in to two seperate lots of shelves - one we're using as a shoe rack and the other as a much needed book shelf. I'm quite chuffed with my DIY skills :D I've therefore also been to the tip with a very full car in the pouring rain

We had jacket potato's with cheese and salad for lunch and are the chickens are roasting as we speak. I've done no baking in preparation for lunch boxes so had better get some cake mix on the go after I've prepped the veg.

Still need to list on ebay, place order and help DD with homework project - we need to build an animal home in a shoe box  Maybe a monkey in the jungle  we're not decided yet :o We do have a spare shoe box just in case :rotfl:also wanted to sort out kitchen cupboards but don't know if I'll have time (especially as the sofa, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a blanket and a cup of tea seems soooooooo appealing

Oh well, I'll keep going til X-factor and then collapse in a heap, get ready for bed and then go to work in the morning feeling all stressed out cos I haven't had a proper rest  But at least I'll have got stuff done :T:D:cool:
