Notes:
- I could possibly earn more in the future by my business starting trading again & taking a wage from it.
- Once business is trading I won’t have to pay £251 of it’s outgoings.
- Benefit of business trading - £251 better off, more if I take a wage!
I think those calculations make it VERY clear that I need to concentrate on the business trading again, and also making extra money on Ebay. I'm going to have to really step it up a notch.Debt @ LBM 29/12/08 - £49044! Unfortunately not. Until I stopped working we paid £45 in insurance for the 5 cats every month. We had the insurance for approx 3 years.
3 years insurance = £1620
We claimed for approx £600 during this time. £500 of that was purely for an accident where Madison had to have 3 inches of his tail amputated.
So, when we're a little better off we plan to just pay £45 into a savings account, or have a blank credit card for such emergencies.Debt @ LBM 29/12/08 - £49044! Poor puss. Can she not just be given some potassium citrate the same as a human would take? In a much smaller dose, obviously!!! YAY to free knocked-off cat food - I suppose that'll pay for the vet bill in a round-about kind of way.
Are you off camping this week? Hope the weather improves - it's dire this morning so far.
As it's stress related cystitis we luckily got the vets to prescribe the medication needed without seeing her (no consult fee) so it did only cost £22 today. Thank goodness.
Camping week after next. I hope the weather stays nice for that long! I hate camping in poor weather!Debt @ LBM 29/12/08 - £49044! I couldn't live without my insurance as when my baby boy was 4 months old he broke his leg on his ankle and it cost £2500 to get fixed
He had to go to a specialist as he was so young.
I pay about £15 per month for my two now, do swap each year though and Spencers is only £66 this year after cashback from quidco. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -

That's a LOT of insurance you've paid for! Glad it only cost £22, hope she's better soon.
Edit: £22???!!! Without consultion? Just realised what I said above. It must be good stuff!0 -
Rags - Uber long story. Basically HSBC aren't allowing us to close up!!! Madness. I asked for it in writing weeks ago, with links to their terms which state this. I haven't heard anything. But I've been so busy battling Halifax about my mortgage (another long story) that HSBC got put on the back burner.
Halifax did get sorted today. Apparently we are getting a cheque for £200 as compensation for their VERY big mistake.
Panda - If it could be any worse, it was 10ml!!! £22 for 10ml!!! They should sell it on the streets for that price!
Signed up to the Qype offer of 40 reviews for a £20 iwoot voucher. 22 revies done with the help of DH. Hopefully should have those finished by the end of the week!

WOOOHOOO!!! Well done on battling hun - these things are sent to try us - and I'm sure they hold out to see if you give up fighting - well done on getting some compensation too!
SOA looking good - going to be doing mine soon when I work out what future wages are! Good to hear all else is going well retro
LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
Challenges - 2009 - Reduce CC to £1k by December
June - Food £86/£130 * Petrol £50/£80 * Weekly allowance * £80/£1600 -
Great result on the £200! I can't understand at all how HSBC can force you to keep trading, that one's way beyond me, but most things HSBC do are beyond me these days. Horrible people!
How's puss?0 -
Panda - Puss is doing well. *touch wood* I hope that's the end of that bout for another 12 months!
So, I've been a little naughty. I got my first full salary on Friday, what with that excitement, the cheque for £200, the wonderful sunshine... we went shopping on Saturday AND Sunday, had 2 meals out, and we spent a bit too much money.
Considering we're going camping for 4 nights next week, I doubt we're going to have any money left at all. Plus there's still about £300 of bills to be paid out of about £500. So our trip AND living until the end of the month = £200. Which I'm sure I can do.
It did motivate me to do some Ebay listings last night! Panic does set in, y'know?
I also put my expenses into work & they came to £85! No wonder I'm skint! Hopefully they will come through before my holiday. That should cover petrol & all our food.
Work apparently has no air conditioning. I'm spending 8 hours a day sweating, with a headache... I'm sour about this job already. Roll on winter. I HATE being too hot. I'm coming home in a right grump, just slouching on the sofa doing nothing productive. Grrr.
I should also mention I budgeted £80 for food for the month, then went & spent £119 in Tesco (that's with a £9 off voucher they sent me!)
I need kicking in the rear. Any takers?Debt @ LBM 29/12/08 - £49044!
