Tesco own brand probiotic 4 pack yoghurt drink thingy. It was 59 p(or maybe 69p) the last I bought it a few weeks ago. Now it is priced at 99p. That is another item on the don't buy at Tesco list.

Well it only took a few days but they are at 65p now. I guess the full shelf persuaded them that they were not going to get away with it like they have with so many other lines.

More likely they'll now be claiming another massive price cut from 99p down to 65p.
In a few weeks (or less) they'll put the price back up again.

Price of chicken has gone up two fold in my opinion, I usually pay around £3 for a decent size one, on Saturday I paid £3.55 and it was so small even my son said this is a small chicken mum, are you sure our Vedder [ our cat] hasn't brought another pidgeon home.
I will also be buying elsewhere in the future.
Also Tesco frosties has gone up about 50p a box.

Have you heard about the outrageous 'profits' It was on the news this morning & the figures are frankly obscene. I've just been spitting feathers about it on the Grocery Challenge thread....Of course they are making money, by charging gold prices for brass products. If I had any easily accessible alternative I would shop elsewhere, but then they all seem to be as bad as one another don't they.

I was disgusted by what I heard on the news too, considering the fact that food prices in Tesco have been growing constantly and package sizes diminishing just as quick.
To be honest I only go to Tesco nowadays if I can't get what I want elsewhere.I just won't give them my money, but obviously not everyone is thinking the same otherwise they would'nt be coining it in.

Tesco's latest set of accounts tell me all I need to know about the GBP at large (not on here, I hasten to add). No wonder foreign companies can't wait to buy into our British companies, the GBP clearly love being ripped off.

The chief executive, Sir Terry Leahy, said the company was coping well with the downturn. "At a time when customers everywhere are feeling the economic strain, we are responding to their changing needs in all our markets by lowering prices, introducing more affordable products and offering even sharper promotions," he said.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • What's 'sharper promotions'? Is that the spike before the bogof? Sorry got a skeptical head on this morning.

So they're also going more into banking what happens when a supermarket this size goes pop? I think their size and scope should be limited both nationally and in towns and areas.

Always bought tesco pasta sauce for 89p - went to buy it yesterday and it was up to £1.39 - no wonder their flipping profits are up by 10% on last year when they are just putting there costs up by such extorinate (sp?) amounts. Try not to shop there these days if I can help it - what rip off merchants - it's just legalised theft in my books:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Rant over.
