Another Tesco Massive Price Increase

Last night i braved the cold to go back to Tescos in Hull as the night before i had bought amongst other things 2 Tescos own brand Mintlicious ice creams, which was advertised in store as 2 for £3. I had noticed that i had been charged £1.95 x2. I thought i will pick up a few items including 3 muller yogurts at 3 for £1 and go to CS as well . Got the lady to go to the ice cream section and check the price and lo and behold I looked at my receipt and found that they had charged me 3x £0.54 for the yogurts !! .
They had effectively played the same trick twice"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170 -

Report them to trading standards. They will get a heavy fine for things like that.0 -

There are very few nowadays. I read a couple of years ago that only the big pharmaceutical companies and cosmetics companies like Lynx and Gillette have much power over supermarkets these days. Ever noticed how Lynx deoderant is always £2.50 in all the supermarkets? And Gillette razor blades are always about the same extortionate price.0 -

I nearly stopped a woman the other day - she bought heniz ketchup for £2.30ish when one shelf lower the bigger (amost double size as it had 30% free) was only 30p more! Course i wouldn't spend that much on ketchup anyway and bought asdas own for 75p!
I totally agree with you - I DID stop a few people not long ago. Our local was doing a pack of 5 pepperami for £2.03 or 1 on its own for 30p!! I actually managed to tell 3 people about it while I was there, no wonder they make so much money with people just not looking! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

It's amazing how many offers there are at the moment that just make no sense. They're just designed to trick people who don't think or are too stupid to work it out themselves. And I really hate when they take 1 pence off the price and have a sign telling you about the price reduction. It makes me not want to buy it if that's all the discount they can offer!
I also hate how supermarkets like to advertise huge discounts if you by 2 of something. Like they'll advertise a product at £1.50 or £2 for two. All this tells me is the price for one is vastly inflated and I want to know why (of course I knopw why really - so their offer looks better than it really is).0 -
An easy way to work out the best deals in supermarkets is just to look at the price labels on the shelf.
They usually tell you the price you are paying per litre, kg, etc.
That's a quick way that I compare offers anyway.0 -

That's true, ever noticed though that they like to try and screw with people who're not that good at maths or get confused easily? Like for one product they'll show the price per litre, and for another that's next to it they'll have the price per 100ml or something. You see this all the time, should be a law against it.0 -
May sound harsh, but if simple 4th grade arithmetics is something you can't be bothered with, you're ****ed for life.
If the shops don't get you, finance industry will.
With "you", I don't mean anybody personally.0 -

That's true, but do you not find it irritating that they do this?0
