Really I doubt that. You must buy some really specific stuff, because all surveys I've seen have shown Asda to be cheaper than Tesco.

Don`t be sucked into the marketing that asda is cheaper than tesco, yeah sure every week you see an advert saying asda are cheaper on over 2000 prices than tescos/morrisons, but realistically how many of those prices do you think will be on products that we buy every day, hardly any i am guessing, they always compare themselves against tescos/morrisons because they are worried about them, you never see an advert where they compare themselves to sainsburys, the only time we ever shop at asda is for school clothes for our girls, we tried to do our weekly shop there before, but spent £60 and walked out with 3 carrier bags, we spent the same at morrisons and walked out with our shopping trolley over flowing, so there is a big difference in prices, i neva get sucked into this rubbish that asda are the cheapest, they maybe but certainly not on products that you buy everyday, Dave
Take every day as it comes!!

I saw this yesterday when I did my on-line shop - usually buy a couple of can for my cat as a treat - I can't stand tuna myself. I couldn't believe it and refused to buy it. Luckily I work near Morrisons so will pop down there and see if I can grab him a few cheap tins from there. You do get pulled into a false sense of security don't you when you don't keep an eye on the prices:mad:
..good news mate, Somerfield are doing tins are budget tuna for 36p, 13p cheaper then Tesco & Asda. Used to think that Somerfield was really expensive but if you scratch the surface they've got some real gems inside.

Was going to buy it on Sunday when I was in but I assumed it'd be cheaper in my local Asda. How wrong was I?

My cats love it so I'm deligted to say that both of our moggies will probably be in for a culinary treat tonight! :D

    Hi Deanos
They don't.The BOGOF's can be a good saving when they come around.I mainly use Tesco myself and whilst I appreciate they have put their prices up,some deals can be good.
Some of the Asda BOGOF's can be good too.
Unfortunately not everyone can afford to buy in larger quantities which could be costing them more in the long run.

(Ps...Has that conservatory fallen down yet?

A lot of these surveys include slow sellers and a large quantity of toileteries. When it comes to big sellers and staples they all charge pretty much the same. They can make figures say what they want, like Tesco dropping 3,000 prices, sure, all by 1p and on things you rarely buy, but price rises, its much bigger amounts
The latest for me is small tins of Heinz Spag hoops, 28p a few weeks back, now 45p ,unjustified.

Your right about Tesco dropping prices by 1p on things we dont buy that often.
Was in our local one yesterday and they were dropping prices yes, only by 1p on very expensive dog food, and other bits I never buy. Personally found sainsburys cheaper, esp on value pasta, 41p 500g sainsburys, tesco 58p,

I used to buy Tesco 6pk Disney Fromage Frais for dd, but since the summer this has gone up from 48p to 68p, now is priced at £1.00. Shocking - I buy whatever is on offer or resort to the value f/frais now.

Oak Lane tomato sauce (discount brands) gone up. Was 59p I think a week or so back, 75p on monday. Had tried this as a sucessful alternative to heinz. Will be nearly as expensive soon.

Keith99 - asda had 4 tins heinz spag for a pound the other day on promotion.
