Here's a big one no doubt due to the £/Euro and a tundra frost in the peanut plantations - Value Peanuts up from £0.20 6 weeks ago to £0.37 - 85% increase0

Tesco Frozen Value chips were 97p a couple of weeks ago - this week £1.56! This is still cheaper than branded chips, but even so! I think the supermarkets think we are daft - market value, cheaper price, even smaller packs.First Direct Loan @ 7.9% £13,076.03/£20,250
Mint CC @ 18.9% £3030.29/£3100 Virgin CC @ 34.9% £651.46/£2700 Tesco CC @ 0% 1366/1500

I found the lidals chips very good value and tasty, esp as they are only 55p a bag0 -
A little warning:
My sister works at tesco and says they've been talking about putting all prices up for the week running up to xmas due to people waiting to do shopping!
Well, every little helps..........for them!:xmastree::xmassign: :xmastree:0 -
Makes complete business sense. Skimming consumer buying power when it materialises, like in the annual Christmas surge.
Hey, retail ain't charity. They are responsible to their shareholders (read that as funds and corporate investors, or as Dieter Schwarz and the brothers Albrecht), but not to little customers like you and me. We're just cash cattle. Don't forget that for a second. And buy against their cycles!
Like this...there are families in Germany (a country of confessing misers) who don't exchange presents at Christmas but just pictures of presents. The real presents are then actually bought after Christmas, when everything is flogged at yummy discounts.
Not a bad way to beat retailers' little stratagems.0 -

How about this? Tesco 6 pack of crusty white rolls, 39p up til a day or two ago. Now 65p!! Thought it may have been local as our store only been open around a month but showing as new price on web. Thats an increase of getting on towards 75%. How come the bread loaves aren't 75% dearer? Really cross about this - no way could they ever justify such an increase. Makes me want to complain to their head office! :mad:Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
