It apparently seems to be the manager of the Livingstone game selling 8 of the stores 10 premium packs on Ebay. Hmmm.=QUOTE]
Looks a bit dodgy to me. He hasn't got any feedback scores at all and then suddenly decideds he has 8 to sell.
Saying he's from Game is probably some ploy to make the auction sound more authentic. It's been horrible to watch people buying from people with no feedback score and getting stung - most of them completely new users who were desperate to ge one.0 -

Hmm. I'm inclined to believe it - surely a fake seller wouldn't list 8 machines? Thats quite a high price in listing fees really.
Any Livingstone people kicking around?
And I've mended the link. Whoops.0 -

If he gets paid for them all though the listing fees won't be so bad - although I guess it's odd he's not doing it as Buy It Now sale.0 -

If it's a con it makes sense, but not if it is just a dig at the manager.
Don't know, we'll have to see how it pans out.0 -
In response to the above attempts at undermining me......
Game in Leamington have the X-Box 360 games and accessories to the right as you go in.
Along the top, there are at least 4 big messages about them having none, and not knowing when they will get any more.
If you doubt me, I'll go back, take a photo, and send it to you.
It's alright saying "you don't ask, you don't get". But when it's there, literally, in black and white, I do begin to think there are many thick people in Britain.
In reponse to the "paying over the odds when they're cheaper next year" comment - that's all down to where you want to put your money. You may be right, they might go down in price.
You may smoke, drink, and have kids. Of which I don't, and have none of. Therefore I elected to buy it on release (which I didn't do with the original X-Box). To me it's worth it. To you it won't be.
My basic point is that, in my view, there are too many uneducated people out there. You pre-order, 9 times out of 10 you get one. You don't pre-order, you've got a job finding one.
You go in 2 days after release, when there's notices up saying they've got none....and I will say that the person is stupid.0 -

There is no question they will go down in price, the PS3 is coming and at the moment the XBox has the hype and this entails higher prices. The same as every computer that is ever released under a veil of promotion.
That said i have however bought 1 for my daughter for Xmas and i did got it even though i didnt preorder through a Tesco store.0 -
I asked in a computer/console game store, may have been Gamestation., Leeds yesterday, knowing full well they'd be out of stock - But it then opened up the questions of when are you expecting more stock, how many, how often.
They have been promised 10 a week, which will go to their 78 pre-orders they still have outstanding.
Stupid of me to ask.
ps. I pre-ordered from game.net on 4 September and am still waiting.0 -
I thought M$ had a very strict pricing structure on this product? I have a feeling that if Game are doing that then they won't receive many next delivery....0

I was in Asda yesterday. Next to all of the signs saying "XBOX 360 sold out", "No Stock", etc... I was waiting in line at the till to buy a DVD, the assistant was on the phone. The bloke a few people in front of me (60-something years old) was talking on his mobile and I was vaguely aware he was apologising to someone.
Assistant puts the phone down looking a bit puzzled and turns to the man, who says, "sorry to trouble you - I can see all the signs and things, but I was just explaining to my wife that I can't get one of these XBOX 360's that our grandchild desperately wants... we promised him, you see... when will you be likely to get in new stock?" To which the assistant replied... "actually you're kind of in luck - that phone call I just finished was with someone who has one reserved here and he's just rung to cancel the order as he got one elsewhere unexpectedly..."
One happy old chap, one soon-to-be delighted grandchild and no-one called him stupid for asking. As someone else says, if you don't buy a ticket, you can't win the lottery...
Actually daveboy, your attitude stinks. OK, so it's down to you that you choose to spend your cash on an over-hyped "gottahaveit, gottahaveit, gottahaveit" gadget, but this sneering down your nose at those folk who weren't as "clever as you" does you no favours at all. What about all those people who pre-ordered and due to poor stocking STILL didn't get their new toy? Are they stupid if they go out desperately hunting around for the few XBOX 360's that MAY be tucked away somewhere...?
Personally I think that you (and anyone else who just HAD to have an XBOX 360) the second it came out are a bit sad and need to get a life, but that's just MY personal opinion, you understand...?0 -

What you have just outlined is a rarity. Compared to the number of people who will ask, the number that get one this way could probably be counted on both hands, across the country.
I have had many dealings with members of the public through work. It made me change to working overnight because I was sick of their rudeness and stupidity.
I shop when its quiet (early in the morning) because I'm sick of people walking around like they've got all day (a rare occasion I went out during the day was actually Sunday).
Maybe it's my experiences of people that make me have this view. But years and years of seeing the way others behave meant that this sort of thing didn't surprise me.
It isn't a "gotta have it" thing. I didn't get an original X-Box until September 2004, well after they'd come out. That X-Box has had more use than any other item I've bought, hence the reason I got an X-Box 360. Originally I was more into the PlayStation 2.
If it wasn't for the recent changes to the site rules, I'd identify where I am so you could send the heavies round. :rolleyes:0
