Thanks for that hm...... I've often been put off taking the kids to theme parks in the holidays/weekends , purely because I really cant do an hour queueing!! So , in the past I've had to wait for hubby to have a day off work (he's self employed , so a bit of a pain) and then getting the kids off school for a day....this will help no end , I'll be able to take them myself!!:D

Thank you Martin, I love you

    re the name............

Personally I'd rather been described as a Moneysaver first and foremost, than a disabled person first! My thoughts too Daisy

We need to make it clear that 'disabled' includes people with chronic health conditions, as lots of people still think that only people who have mobility problems are disabled, whereas the term is much wider nowadays.

Having said that, 'moneysavers with chronic and/or serious illnesses and/or disabilities' is a bit of a mouth full, isn't it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wow Fantastic idea, i'm signing up to this board.
Hope this doesn't put the cat among the pigeon BUT not to sure on the Dosh bit of the name.?
Anyway Thank you for the Board :j

Just want to say a BIGGGGG thank you to everyone for this brilliant thread. On a dosh note I need several pescriptions even though on DLA still had to pay. CAB advised Grumpy grandad to apply for pension credit, as even if you dont get very much per week this entitles me to free pescriptions, dentist LOL and eye tests. Did so must say the Pension Credit people are excellent and result no more pescription charges

Can I just ask when you say in receipt of DLA, is this just in receipt of high rate or does it count fall all rates. I am only on lower rate for both mobility and care but I suffer from ME/Fibro, Clinical Depression and Bipolar, so I suppose these would also be counted as chronic longterm illnesses.

Also well done and thank you for suggesting this board...

Brilliant. Thank You, Thank You so much for setting this up.

I was always anxious if I mentioned that I was disabled on the main forum and so had a problem getting or sharing info before.

    What a relief.

Until we have one....should we use this thread as the disabled/long term illness money saving board?

...thread number 1, lol - I can't hold a telephone properly/often or for long - does anyone knw where I can get a headset telephone from?

You can rent/buy one from BT. The one we have is called a BT Converse 225 and it accepts a headset (although we don't have one). Quite a few Converse models accept headsets so it's worth checking. Be aware that these phones require headsets with a RJ11 jack so the cheaper headsets with 3.5mm plugs won't do :(

I don't know what anyone else thinks but perhaps we could merge certain threads- I would be happy to merge my day out threads, with say the cinema & theatre deals threads, and have it under a suitable title for example diasbled ticket deals???
