OS daily thread 4th October

Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for the 4rd October . It is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning all
Not much planned for today - I will go home for a nap in a second - then come back and slave over my keyboard until the word start to move on their own
six days.... getting there though - it's now all starting to come together. It looks like a thesis - albeit a badly formatted messy one :rotfl:
My contemparary handed in yesterday - which was great for him
The new guy came to talk to me  I very gently explained I was a little busy and he got all scared and edged out of my office backwards bowing as he went
He's a much higher grade than me - he should know what to do - and really shouldn't need me.
Still feeling a bit rough - but such is life. I'll sleep forever once this is done
I must go hiome and switch of the slow cooker. It has been on for 24 h. I think it will be done now
Have a good day all, cel x

Morning celyn and all those who follow.
Just browsing about for a few minutes and then off to work. The good thing about working weekends is that I don't have to make any packed lunches or meet the school buses and congestion on the way in.
The weather looks pants for the weekend so I won't miss anything and I have no spare cash to go to the shops anyway.
Had to go in on my day off yesterday as someone screwed up and I had to sort things out. I will claim for that and hope they might pass the overtime.
Planted some garlic yesterday, so hopefully in the spring that might be good. I have not done garlic before, so not sure when it starts to grow, now or in the spring.
Morrisons had curry meal deal for 2 yesterday at only £3. Tasty and cheap.... well worth going. You might bump in to Alan Hanson too.....:rolleyes:NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Smoky, it sounds as though your house is coming together and that was a bargain on the bunks.
Marie, hope they are managing to balance Ulrick's meds and that he will be home with you soon.

Morning Celyn and N9eav and all who follow, up early today as had a sleepless night, due to DD2 and her OH, they went off to a party last nght and DH went off to work. I was woken at 1.30 by the OH sayng they had had a massive argument and he had got out of there and was on his way home to his mams 30miles away. I rang DD(she s at a family members house) and she answered the phone very drunk. I was told she would get a taxi home so i lay down and tried to sleep. She has just rung me in a hell of a state to say she cant remember what happened and where has OH gone.DH finshes work at 7 so he is pickng her up on his way home. I have a nasty feeling that someone has spiked her drink. It is nearly a year since she had a drink due to being pregnant and i think with losing her baby , she has kept a lot bottled up, which obvously came out last night. I am in for a hell of a day no doubt, will try and pop in later, BSB xx0

Hola!
Had my sleep out so on here while everyone else is still in their pits.:j
Just had a skim round and saw on Hotdeals that Lidl have some remote plugs for switching off hard to reach things on standby coming in - here - I got some similar ones from Aldi and they are great for not having to reach over TV's etc., to switch off the plugs when not in use. Though of you guys trying to watch electricity costs - not to mention the fire risk so though I would mention them. As they have been on HD & probably GIWYC too you will need to be early as anything mentioned like this seems to fly out of Lidl and Aldi. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I won't go far into my creepy tale now:o  , as would not like to put anyone off their breakfast, but I think the culprit was a packet of spaghetti, even though they are supposed not to like pasta according to one web site, and they had had intense heat and 2 months :rolleyes2 since we had left and returned.
I probably won't be back later as going to the market with DS's GF for her to have a look round, and stock up with fresh fruit/veg. Then off to some friends 3/4 hour inland to chill round their pool and then go into their town for the Fiesta followed by a very late tapas meal.
We have been having a store built at the back of the drive. Las year we had a bottled gas water heater fitted to eliminate the emmersion and make room for a higher F/Freezer and need to hide the bottles and keep them shaded, together with space for the outside furniture when not in use as we have to bring things inside when we go home. One of our neighbours is doing it for 50% less than the original quote we had:j :j :j
Unfortunately far too many of you needing hugs to mention by name so
:grouphug: Everyone :grouphug:

Morning Everyone
Celyn90 good luck with the work. You sure have to be dedicated to put the hours in you've been doing lately
Well its still dark outside so not sure what the day holds weatherwise. But I hope it isnt going to be wet today as I'm taking the kids out of town shopping and as its Saturday I want to put my glad rags on.Do people still do that where you are or is it just me being old fashioned cos we were always made to get dressed up to go into town and its just sort of stayed with me.Whereas people now dont seem to bother
Still full of a cold which is going to make for an interesting day with four kids to look after.
Have a good day everyone
