You don't have to do that on Amazon, the seller is obliged to refund you if you have changed your mind. Send an email through the system and state the DVDs are being returned unopened and by recorded post. Then if seller does not refund on their return (wait for DVDs to be signed for) start an A-Z claim. Amazon expect all their sellers to abide by the distance selling regulations.

In future it is probably best to do a quick search of the usual places, HMV, Play, Tesco.Com before assuming Amazon marketplace is cheaper.

Thanks, this is the point I am getting at.

I like to shop at places that follow retail laws and regulations.

Would you like it if you wanted a refund from Boots but had to write a letter of praise to the shop manager in order to get it?

But boots don't have market sellers.

And there's a big difference between Amazon itself and the market sellers some of them may be business where as others are just people like myself selling a few old dvds that we don't want anymore.

sorry but i dont see the problem
you got your dvd's delivered intat, new and for the price you expected and were happy to pay
so the seller got your item via HMV,good for them
if i had the time i could be tempted myself
i often see stuff go for prices on ebay i could beat
same goes for deal extreme offering plain shipping labels
do you think HMV care who gets their goods?
    they get paid regardless

It is your fault for not searching elsewhere. The price they paid is going to be less and I would just forget about the stickers.

You were happy to pay that price and they tirned up quickly that is the end of it and you also learned to shop around.

I really don;t think there is anymore to be said on the subject, you appear to be the typical nightmare customer here and I sure hope you don;t buy anything from me!

I don;t understand the problem you have, you saw the price on amazon and were happy to pay this, the goods arrived in a timely fashion and in the condition expected. Then you find out you could of paid less for them and start throwing toys out of your pram!

Ok you're a bit peeved at paying a little extra than you could of, but why blame the seller when the fault is yours? You bought off amazon without checking around, and were happy to pay the price then, so why the sour grapes when you realise you could of saved a couple of quid if you'd taken the time and effort to shop around? Is the couple of quid you are going to save buy returning and getting a refund isn;t really worth it, you will have to pay for the return postage as the seller was not at fault and you are simply returning due to changing your mind, also the seller is entirely within their rights to charge a restocking fee due to this which would mean you would be even further out of pocket.

2 things you can learn from this
    a) shop around for the best deal!!
    b) If you are happy to pay a price for goods and services don;t change your mind when you realise later that you could have got it cheaper if you had done a)

About 4 years ago when the TV show 'Most Haunted' started to get popular I noticed that buyers on Ebay would pay a lot of money for DVDs yet Amazon were doing them (only 2 released at the time) for half price. I had a very luctrative business buying them in batches of 6-8 at a time, and selling them on BINs on ebay for slightly higher than the RRP. I did the same with the first Derek Acorah book, and would regularly get £12 for a copy on Ebay and was buying them at £.3.49 from Asda.

I never did work out what was going on but I earned enough for a very nice weekend away just from Most Haunted items. You can't give the stuff away nowadays.

OP I'm afraid your just being petty. You wanted the DVDs, you got the DVDs. What you object to is someone making a small turn.

There are a lot of sellers who try and make ends meet selling a few things.

Please just let it pass and learn to search the next time.

You have all missed the point. Rare stuff - PM me your Amazon ID and I'll ensure that I never buy from you.

The seller offered me a postage refund when I happened to ask whether themselves or HMV had sent me the DVDs, I did not demand it. This was on condition that I left positive feedback. I was unhappy with this as I don't like being told to leave positive feedback - feedback is my choice - so I asked for a full refund. I then received a list of conditions which in my opinion state the seller has no intention of refunding.

I am trying to communicate with a seller who states they have a special deal with HMV and have a loss prevention department. I like to be told the truth not a group of lies and half truths. I want to deal with honest sellers. It has become clear I am dealing with a student in their bedroom using their NUS card.

Again I am shocked at your responses and find it very rude to be called a nightmare customer.

Sorry but I really do think you are making mountains out of mole hills.

You where happy with the price you paid and you got the dvds you wanted.

As already mentioned if you obviously shopped around a bit you could of found them cheaper but you choose not to.

If I was the seller then personally I wouldn't refund you as I see no reason to.

You have missed the point!!!! Again!!!!

The issue is not the price, I couldn't care less. The seller is demanding positive feedback for a refund - this is not allowed.

I can ask for a refund for any reason through Amazon. The reason could be any - if I ask for a refund I should be given immediately the address to return the item, not a list of conditions threatening me with lawyers and fake loss prevention departments.

Some of you would struggle in the business world where these standards are upheld every day - hence why you probably sell on Amazon
