Hi everyone, :santa2:
Like Ancasta its the start of my 3 weeks off so Im really happy. At work on Friday everyone commented on how broad my grin was. :snow_grin
Today is my usual cleaning day. Tomorrow I will spend some time having a sort out and more deeper cleaning. Have visitors tonight (bearing gifts hopefully) and DD1's carol concert tomorrow night.
If I get chance over this week Im going to focus on what I want to achieve next year, moneysaving/old styling wise - Im starting with meal planning. My lot are so picky I find meal planning really difficult as we dont all like the same meals. I've always followed the "pantry principle" ie, keeping a basic stock of certain items and just restocking what we have used. Im going to compare food bills when I start meal planning and see which turns out to be cheaper.
Anyway - I'd best go and tend to my poor guinea pigs, they have been to the vet this weekend as they were off their food. The vet said they are wheezy/snotty and we have antibiotics to give them. One of them had her teeth chopped too, poor thing! They are very old ladies in guinea pig years so Im going to give them some TLC.
Have a nice day all! :rudolf:

Well, it would make meal times a little more interesting! :snow_laug
Today is go slow day. Spent yesterday clearing out the clothes - and today is toys. Yes - I know I said I would do it days ago, but I got a little side tracked (okay, couldn't be bothered!)
Dinner is chops and Mash.
Off to the post office to pay the rent. Our council come down heavy on those that dont pay over Christmas, and if I dont pay it today, it wont aoppear on their records until after Christmas, prompting the letters. So in effect, I am saving them money in paper and postage by avoiding that! :snow_laug
In work today and tomorrow and off for 2 weeks!!! Yeah!!!
Got to place a last order with Amazn today for Christmas delivery and have to buy a handful of pressies on Wednesday - then we are finished!!
Off now - seee you later!

I should be out there cleaning, really, but I think I could happily spend the rest of the day drinking cups of tea and watching the posts come in this thread, one by one.... wishful thinking!
Off I go, now, for real! hehe

Morning all,
Today I have a flexi day off work, hooray. This morning I am waiting in for a package to be picked up by a courier, so kinda housebound till then. I have written myself a 'to do' list out, need to clean the kitchen up, and do some work on my part time business. Later I need to go to the gym and will shower there afterwards. Tonight we are all going to the Xmas panto at the local theatre, we go every year and it's always great so I'm looking forward to it.
Have a good day all,
Sarah.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
Hi Everyone,
Like Ancasta and Sweet Pea today is the start of my 3 weeks holiday (minus 2 afternoons work this week, but it will be fun with the little ones). I am recovering from DD's birthday weekend. Over excited girls and lack of sleep, not a good combination!m lol!
I've got to finish my Christmas shopping today! I can't bring myself to go into town! It will be so busy... I've toyed with the idea of using Amazon or Whsmith online, but too worried in case stuff doesn't arrive on time! You are brave Charlotte664!0 -
Good morning all
Feeling all christmassy now! :xmastree:
Working from 10am today - got up early tho for the plumber....supposed to be here at 7.45am...he arrived at 9am!!! grrrrrrr.
Everything is ready for Christmas - got 3 pressies due to arrive tomorrow from Amazon, used a couple of vouchers from online surveys so what should have cost me £49 in the shops only cost me £25...bargin!
Spent ages yesterday trying to get DH motivated to put up some shelves for DD's......in the end I let him go to bed at 2.30pm and woke him at 5pm..he was in a better mood and got on with all the other jobs i'd found for him whilst he was asleep (serves him right!)
Just made a christmassy cd to put on in the kitchen, will potter today with little one and DD's - need to make some pastry later for the freezer for later in the week, will make them some to play with too and get out the cookie cutters.
Aim to have a dig in the fabric box tonight - I'm short on napkins for boxing day - don't want to use paper ones so will try and make some plain ones to go with my cream and gold table cloth, I've got some nice Xmas ribbons so will edge them with that if they look a little to plain.
Need to check the turkey too and see how long it needs to defrost for and make room in my walk in larder for it - how I love my old larder...it's got a huge airbrick init so it stays icy cold in this weather and is great when you run out of room in the fridge.
Tea tonight will be beef stew and dumplings with mash and veg, lunch will be cheese or beans on toast.
Have a good one all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Hi guys!!!!!
Hugs to all those who are under the weather..... hope you are feeling better soon.....
Busy weekend. friday I sold a sewing machine on ebay, lady came to collect it and paid me cash....lovely, Friday night I won the machine I was hoping for on ebay so Saturday was a quick trip via Stratford to collect it, paid cash!!!!!
Yesterday I realised just how ill I have been was wiped out all day and had only sat in the car not driven the day before, god knows what i would have bn like if we had gone to France and i had travelled 600 miles driving half of the distance!!!
Yesterday morning we went up and cleared the caravan, it is going down to the dealers tomorrow, they are going to sell it for us....... came back and listed a whole lot of the stuff on a caravanning website, sold two things already.
Nice bright morning, having a quick trip to the allotment with OH he wants to take some stuff up and I could do with a breath of fresh air.
Made the base of a shepherds pie yesterday for supper tonight, just have to put the spud on..... guess we will have banana spilt for afters, cannot be bothered to do anything else.
I have to get myself into gear, need to make some mince pies...... gone are the years when I used to make 100 dozen each Christmas........ orders used to start in October..
also need to do some cleaning, lampshades in the bedroom looking dusty and the living room floor has little rolls of dust on the laminate floor.......
I often am awake in the night, so yesterday I rigged up a kettle in the bedroom so I no longer have to go downstairs to make tea (I do not take milk or sugar in either tea or coffee) needless to say did not need it last night Ha Ha!!!!
Right OH just back from the post office, I am away for a cup of tea and then up to the allotment for an hour.......
Have a good day.

Good Morning everyone, I am feeling a bit more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning It is my youngest daughters birthday today (she of the five children) she is a mere stripling at 36. The sun is shining and I have been to the out-patients and had the 9 stitches removed from my elbow and today I can actually drive for the first time in 12 days.
My elbow is still a little stiff and sore but the nurse said I should heal up o.k.I am just about to take myself off to get the last of my Christmas bits ,wrapping paper ect,.
I feel so relieved that I haven't got to wear a bandage anymore it's like having a new lease of life. I am a rotten patient with nil tolerance for laying about.I can't wait to get going now.
This time I will be more sensible and remember that I must use my walking stick and I'm not 17 anymore. These are the instructions laid down by my two smashing daughters who have had to put up with my grumbling for the last twelve days.
Hope everyone feels as cheerful as I do at the moment, and those that don't, then I wish them well too.
I think ebullient is my word for today.
Cheers everyone0 -
Morning all :hello:
Not been on for a couple of days due to predicted crazy weekend.
One of our directors had his retirement do on Friday evening, and it was free food and booze all evening, so the early night I had intended never materialised
Got up earlyish on Saturday morning, and went into London for a concert rehearsal - this overran, so I didn't have time to go home and buy my Christmas tree. I did get to do a bit more Christmas shopping though. My dad took me out for dinner then came to my concert.
Concert was great - everybody loved it - and my new frock was fabulous!
Then went to an after show party which didn't even start until after midnightand which ended up with me trying to get some sleep on stop of the hostess's bed in a freezing basement bedroom with a party still going on overhead...
Had to sing two church services yesterday - morning mass as usual, and an evening carol service which everybody said was the best carol service we've ever done. This was followed by a session in the church hall of trying to prevent danger to life and limb caused by seven or eight over-excited children from running into adults holding steaming glasses of mulled wine. My voice is now wrecked but the mulled wine did help, and I don't have to do any more singing until midnight mass on Saturday. Between the two services I helped set up the Christmas crib scene, which looks a bit bare at the moment with just Mary, Joseph and the Shepherds - the baby gets put in at midnight mass and the three kings go in for Epiphany.
Trying to meet a work deadline now, and need to make a master plan for this week's evenings so it doesn't get to Christmas Eve without me having bought a tree, my housemate's present, half the food and drink, etc etc etc...Operation Get in Shape
