Item doesn't fit, buyer wants refund

Hi all
Sunday I sold a size 14 top. Buyer says it is much smaller and wants a refund. I'm a 14 and I could wear it comfortably. Think she's just changed her mind. She admits it says 14 on label but accuses me of selling it as it would be too small for me if I'm a 14.
I just sell my old stuff and am not a business seller. Item won at auction.
I know I'm not obliged to refund for these reasons. If she negs me could I have it removed? Considering she has admitted it says 14 on the label?
She's started getting a bit bullish, what would you do?

Well how much did it sell for?
If it was cheap then tell her to send it back but it would probably be better for her if she sold it on as she has to pay the return costs.0 -
I'm no use at all but would be interested to see if anyone knows...
Personally if I buy clothes off ebay then its the risk I take of them not fitting- its not the sellers fault that the size is bigger/smaller than the size I usually take, they didn't make it so I don't see how it is the sellers responsibility to refund + I think its too much hassle sending back at your own expense etc.
But then maybe if sellers don't write measurements then they do have to refund0 -
If you clearly stated it was a size 14 in the listing then you are not obliged to offer a refund and should tell her that as the item was accurately described you will not be offering a refund on this occasion and suggest she relists it herself.
You are not obliged to and I personally wouln't but you can offer to refund her minus P+P costs and ebay/paypal fees providing it is returned to you at her expense in the same condition as was sent. Obviously if it was a low cost item she will not think it worthwhile.
If you do receive a neg, then calmly and factually leave a follow up along the lines of 'wanted a refund because item didn't fit - size clearly stated' or similar.
You won't get any neg she does leave removed.0 -
People can neg for any reason, you could give her a refund and then she could still neg u as she had to pay return postage. All her own fault i wouldn't refund as its her fault, she's probably not a size 14 or doesn't like it!
And no if she negs you unless its abusive or something it won't be removedNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks for all your replies.
Will think on it and get back to her this evening. Item was only £3.60.
It's all doing my head in now. I only sell about 6 items a week and there is always one who takes the p1ss recently.
Will check out alternatives to ebay this weekend.0 -

Geez for £3.60 it will cost her that to send it back recorded delivery if she opens a paypal dispute that's what they will tell her to do.
If she don't like it then for that price the best thing you can do is sell it on.0 -
Tell her to bogg off. You could refund her and she still might neg you.TRYING hard to be a good money saver :rolleyes:0

I agree that its the sellers problem. I have bought clothes on ebay that say my size, and are the right size. But one was too small & the other was too big. So i dont buy clothes off ebay no more. But thats the chance you take:)Proud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx
Baby girl due april 2016! cant wait to meet her. xxx0
