Its fast becoming clear anyone will those views is either a troll or hasnt watched the news or read a newspaper in a long time.

Its good to see sense prevailing on this board - I had feared it would be full of people in denial.

If only Joe Public was as switched on as Money Savers

I remembered seeing the alias on HPC a fair time ago, and that alias was definitely a wind up troll. If you google it, also appears on globalhousepricecrash.

Of course the OP comments were also nonsense - or to be fairer - so out of line with the shared knowledge on this board as to be unbelievable.

It's difficult for trolls. In order to be convincing, it needs to be plausible, and there is a danger of ending up in a sensible discussion. Which is not really the point of trolling.

House prices only ever go up!

Where is this mythical land in which you are living?
That statement you provided is not true.

So what else is made up then.

I'm not a troll. I sincerely believe that house prices are about to rocket upwards. The green shoots of recovery can already be seen in this month's figures from the Nationwide, and I expect the market to turn the corner within the next few weeks.

Ok, Im currently looking into buying for investment. I sold what I had in 06/07.
What gives you such confidence we are turning a corner?

Im a mortgage broker and am only seeing more or lenders dipping out of the market, which means less cash for houses.

Unemployment seems to be rising and defaults accelerating.

Im 50/50 at the mo, and am finding hard to make a committment to buy.
  • No, definitely not a troll. Absolutely no trolling going on here. None at all. The green shoots are up to ankle height now. There's so much pent-up demand, you see. Don't you know there's a shortage of property in this country? House prices only ever go up!

You're Norman Lamont and I claim the MSE Troll Awards prize of a timeshare apartment in Bulgaria!

Seriously, thanks for all the laughs. It must be terribly dull sitting in the back office of your bank waiting for the security guard with the black bag to turn up!:rotfl:

Did anyone have a go at the chilli apple jelly I put on?

I've just come in from my (brilliant) job as a volunteer in a charity shop and I'm nackered.

This evening for dinner I'm going to do hm oven chips, sausages and hm mushy peas.

You're not the guy who broke the family bank to fund retraining as an Air Traffic Controller are you? (There are those who think he's HIHM, no really, they do!)

Don't you just love the internet? Back in the days of the South Sea Bubble and the Tulip craze I guess these wind up shysters used to send out messages by horsedrawn carriage, and little way of checking for real facts.

    No offence meant!!!

Here's a link.. basically it says the OP is wrong.

    From your link
'Some properties were down to about 50 per cent of their original purchase price'

They look like fairly sensible buyers to me.

listen, why knock others for having different views. I think you need people like horse else your threads would be quite boring.

    I ALSO AGREE
YES I AGREE TOO. ETC ETC.

I Personally believe that you all seem to love jumping on the bandwagon. Its the same as football. The majority of people who dont really follow football(or own a house) tend to support the team who is currently flavour of the month.
There is no doubt some of you who have no vested interest in buying a house ever, just like to air your views(well the popular view of the month). When its a sellers market you have your sellers market t shirt on, and vice versa. It must be a wanting to belong thing.
As for breaking the family bank thing. Some people in the world are prepared to make sacrafices, gamble call it what you will. Some would say it was brave, some stupid. But you cant really knock someone for trying something different. I could have been "i hate this job" type person but still doing the same job and moaning about the same job for 30 years, or I could have done something about it and taken the risk. Now and I say it all time, I love my job, I would do it for half the money. What price is that last statment worth, its priceless and how many people can say the same. I did something, I triumped, I have my life back on track.

I'd welcome some positive posts, as long as they're backed up by data, articles, facts - anything but the poster's un-educated personal opinion based on talking to his local EA or picking up the latest pearls of wisdom from Stuart Law.

At least providing some data means a meaningful discussion can commence , not just "oh no they're not !" "oh yes they are !".

Check posts by !!!!!!?, Generali, carolt and others, whether you agree with their views or not, at least they provide data to back up their opinions.
