As someone who vaguely studies the property auction markets I can tell you this
    1. A lot of stuff is not reaching the reserve price.
    2. I have been advised, not that I am buying lol, to go around 10 per cent lower than the reserve post auction to``test the vendors need to sale``.

Tbh, compared to 18 months ago, there are some distinct bargains to be had. I am not going to call the bottom yet. I will follow this guys advice and my guess is the bottom will be around 2011 to 2012. The following link was published in 2005.

  • You all need your heads seeing to. Everyone knows property prices only ever go up in the long term and there is so much pent-up demand in this market. The fundamentals remain strong - there is a shortage of property in this country, you see. I'm only telling you this for your own good, so you don't miss out on a bargain.

Why don't you back up your argument about house prices 'rebounding' with evidence or fact rather than just repeating the same tired phrases? Then we can start a real debate.
    Hello.
  • Now is definitely the time to buy. If you can afford the mortgage payments, it won't matter if prices fall further (although I don't expect them to).

    You are clearly very deluded.

I pray you - please buy AS MUCH AS YOU CAN - make sure you remortgage to the hilt so you don't lose out! - as soon as possible, before you miss your 'bargain'.

Just don't borrow from my bank please, as I don't want it to go bust.

I'm not a troll. I sincerely believe that house prices are about to rocket upwards. The green shoots of recovery can already be seen in this month's figures from the Nationwide, and I expect the market to turn the corner within the next few weeks.
