I always put up my x-mas tree and decorations the first Sunday of December. It's been a tradition in our family to light a special candle each Sunday before Christmas. Once the first candle is lit, the decorations come out and we all started decorating. Every Sunday we used to do a little bit more.
We always left all the decorations up until after 6th January.
Life without string would be chaos.

The tree and outside lights go up the day before the first kid comes home from Uni, so they arrive to a lighted Christmas tree and flashing house. Even if it is the first week of December & the non-decorating neighbours are startled.

The rest of the decs go up as fast as I can chase my my tall sons up the ladders  .

Once I have woken up &fed the extended family our traditional brunch I spend NewYear's day taking down decorations :embarasse .
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Ours will go up the 20th or 21st which is the weekend before Xmas and come down on the 4th January.

Will be starting to play the game of who can spot the first xmas tree in a window soon - shops don't count.

We used to play that - and I passed it on to my kids!

Christmas was lovely if very tiring with a 3 week old. I can not belive she is going to be a whole year old soon.

Enjoy it. It goes by even faster with your 3rd.

I don't think I'll bother this year...maybe put a couple of ornaments up in the dining room but I can't be bothered with a tree and all that.
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!
