I think they will be going up dec 1st, dont think i will hold out longer than that. I love to hear about everyones christmas traditions.
I never even thought about trips to see santa when he is a bit older! i just cant wait for it all. I probably should be thinking more about the labour etc rather than christmas, but ive had everything prepared for a couple of weeks now.
thankyou to everyone who has resopnded, i love hearing how others get prepared for christmasDFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -

Ours used to go up on the 1st of Dec untill our dd decided to come 5 days late and arrive on Dec 3rd last year.
I don't want to have them up for her birthdays so now they will not be going up untill the weekend after (6th/7th)
I like the run up to christmas much more than the actual day its self so love having them up early.
I do start taking things down a few things at a time from boxing day.
The tree comes down on new years day if not before.
I can't belive my little baby is going to be 1 so soon :-(
It goes ever so fast Luna (even more so with your 3rd) so make the most of it and do nothing but have lots of baby cuddles :T0 -
We put ours up on 1 dec, but if you want to get started now, how about making some Christmas bits and bobs, a few home made decorations (see lightbulb thread), some applique cushions (plain cover, bougt or made from old sheet than sew on or glue on an angel, christmas tree, stars, snowman etc), christmas table cloth, fairy for the top of the tree, or even start cooking some bits eg chutney, mincemeat, Xmas cake/pud, start writing your Christmas cards, there are just so many things when you start thinking about....I just want to get started now, but I've got halloween party to get out of the way first0

Congrats Lunar!! My Oh's sister is expecting here second baby in january and she is just excited as you sound!!
Now I have moved out I continue the decs tradition that my parents did. They go up the second weekend of December and come down January 5th before 12th night.
Although me and the oH have moved from a 2 bed terrace to a smaller 2 bed apartment and I've not idea where my tree is going to go.:beer: Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
My decorations will go up on 1st of December. It will be my sons first christmas (he will be 8 months old at the time) so i want to make the house look really festive. I might even try to make a wreath for our front door.Married since 28/04/2007

Lunar congratulations the best Christmas present ever:T :T
1st of Dec here too for deccies and down on 12th night.0 -
I just use door wreaths on the outside doors and swap my usual candles and coffee table dishes for gold ones, not much to do so I put them up early on 1st Dec so that when everyone comes downstairs it looks chrismassy. We have a chrismassy house anyway so it just takes these finishing touches to set it for the big day.The tree goes up 2 weeks before christmas as I cant keep a real one looking nice for longer than that.I start playing the christmas CD,s on 1st Dec too.I lsten to them while I do the housework but they are put away before hubby2b gets home as he hates them."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
