Well i have only lived away from my parents for two years but I "always" put the decs up around 1st of december - the first saturday nearest to it. Then will bring them down first saturday after christmas. Becuase it takes me hours to do then prefer doing it when i am not at work.

Twelfth night is the 6th January - I should know, it's my birthday!
Ours go up the day before Christmas eve and come down on twelfth night.
I think it's subject to opinion...

Ours will probably go up around the 15th, and down on twelth night. I don't like to put them up too early, as I think it makes it less magical. Sometimes when we were growing up they wouldn't go up until the 24th. We also always have a real tree (it smells so lovely) and if we put that up on the 1st there'd be no needles left by Christmas Day!0

Ours will go up the 20th or 21st which is the weekend before Xmas and come down on the 4th January.

Oh I get really excited about Christmas from the start of November and the fight with my OH begins! He does not want them up until Christmas Eve and I insist they go up in the first week of Dec. However I have to take them down the day after boxing day as it is the excitement and build up I enjoy!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
