I know its really early to be asking this, im just so excited this year. every year i have had some sadness at christmas time even though i love it, as it has felt like another year of infertitity. Well 8 years after i was told i would have fertility problems i will finally have my baby this year.

I know it will mean nothing to him but i just cant wait to spend my first real family christmas. Its an even bigger celebration as its the first year me and my OH wont be working. i have worked the last 9 now but will be on mat leave this year.

So just wondering how early i can get away with decorating, when will everyone else start?

Up, Christmas eve by the fire with lovely home cooked goodies and spirits.

Down, the day after boxing day.

Our decs consist of one row of glittery blue lights draped over the mantelpiece.

The fire runs all over the time we are at home, much nicer to have that running than any other decs.

the family christmas is really about spending time together and eating good food, so that's what we do.

Congratulations on your baby - this is a very special time!

Our decs usually go up around two weekends before Christmas and come down a few days after New Year. My OH gets the tree from his work so sometimes that can be a bit late coming (OH not so keen on Christmas as I am!!) but I make sure other decorations are up.

Lunar congratulations on your little baby I hope this Chirstmas is everything you want it to be. When I lived at home we werent allowed to put the decorations up untill after my brothers birthday on the 13th, so we always put ours up the weekend after and took them down on the 5th. This is my first christmas living with BF so will put my decs up on the 14th as the 13th is a saturday xx
  • A christmas cherub - how lovely!! Well done to both of you.:j What is your due date?

I put all ours up on 1st December and my OH puts the outside ones up the first weekend of December. I always save the star for my boys to put on the tree and the chocolate decs, and then I light my festive tealights and oils on the evening with a glass of xmas cheer.:xmassmile

My two doggies love it too - they get an extra walk in the evening so I can look at everyone elses decs!!:xmastree:

Decs come down day after boxing day - probably because its the run up to xmas I like best and I want to get the house straight again. More room for the kids to play with all their new toys too.

congratulations on your pregnancy! :T hope it goes well!

now as for x-mas decorations, in our house they usually go up on 1st december and come down the day before i return to school (college this year). but one of my neighbours puts hers up at the beginning of october, which is a bit to early if you ask me!

  • Lunar - wait until your cherub is about 3ish and they believe in Santa. You must have a camcorder or camera to catch the expression on his/her face when they find their pressies under the xmas tree - magical!!

Oh and the beautiful xmas dress-up clothes you can buy for babies these days....and the visits to Santa...and.... I'd better stop before I explode with excitement for you!
