As in the t&c you signed up to if you even know what they are. It's all on the threads.

I suspect you dont want to hear from someone in my position BUT...

I have honestly never had any problem receiving cashback from e2Save, and I have used them for the past 3 years. My latest phone was a Samsung J700 (I think) on O2; 600 minutes per month; net cost £0.

That is actually not true. Once I never received my cashback; I called them after a few weeks of submitting it to them to check the status (as I do most times) and was told it was rejected because I sent in the wrong bill. I was still within the 28 day rule, so I sent in the next one and got the cashback.

I do agree that they change the rules when it suits them.

The trick to getting cashback successful, is to be on the phone. I keep MS Outlook reminders of when to submit my invoice for Cashback. Then I phone e2Save (using a number from saynoto0870.com) every time, and confirm the procedure this month. I always send the bill in by recorded mail, and keep a file at home with all the details. So far so good.

In fact, it has been so reliable that I am wondering if it is worth trying another cashback site, such as mobiles2yourdoor (who seem to be cheaper this year), or if I should stick with what I know.

    Regards

    I've been Money Tipped!
I did slightly better than you, albeit only one 12 months free deal.
No problems whatsoever, all paid very quicky, most within two weeks, it was a fantastic service.
But, others have had major problems, so was I just lucky??
I think not, research done first and followed correctly. The rules did change which actually gave two options of when to send the bills, but all went well.

Sticking to what you know will not get a great deal with e2save at the moment, or the last time I looked, so you will probably have to look elswhere.
I just continued the contract with e2save for £5 per month and took out a 12 months free deal with Phones4u (first cashback to be sent in December).

    Good luck,

  • E2save's current cashback deals are awful and I hear from the grapevine that they do not intend to better them. 12 month free deals via e2save are, indeed, a thing of the past.

M2YD have much better deals. Unless you intend on being offered a deal by a retentions department, I would use M2YD for new contracts.

Just want to clarify when i have to send my cashback as seems they may have changed their T&c's

I have to send in my 1st cashback claim which is my 6th bill. Previously you had to count 180 days from date of connection.

I phoned customer services up and was told to send the 6th bill that i have received and not count 180 days from date of connection.

Is this correct? have they changed the T&Cs in this matter?

Their ts + cs constantly change, but that doesn't affect you.

Ignore anything you are told on the phone.

You should follow the ts + cs that applied to your purchase.

Doing anything different (unless you have their instructions to do so in writing) allows them to win!

Along with a few thousand others!
  • Get your case together and sue; it takes a while but eventually they get the message and DO communicate, kicking and screaming and at greater cost to them.

    Hi there,
I'm wondering whether your advice also applies to OneStopPhoneShop? I've just got really annoyed with OneStopPhoneShop trying to claim the second installment.

Here are the CashBack rules which came with my "6 Months FREE by redemption on Virgin £15 SIM Only" offer:
6 Months FREE by redemption on Virgin £15 SIM Only
Send your claim in line with the Cashback Claim Process below and we will credit you by cheque with £30.00 each time.
This will save you £90.00 over the 6 month duration of the contract. In effect this means that your average line rental per month over the contract period is £0.00 per month.
Please note: the above calculations are based on the basic line rental of the tariff and do not include itemised billing.
    Terms & Conditions:
Download our Cashback Claim Form - click here
PLEASE NOTE: Downloading our Cashback Form requires you to have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer.
    Download here FREE
    Cashback Claim Process:
Instalment 1 - You will need to claim 2 months from connection and you have 30 days from this date to submit your claim. Send us your claim form and monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected to. (This bill must be no older than 28 days when we receive it and have no balance brought forward.)
i.e. if you purchased on the 1st of January 2007, you need to send in the bill that is dated around the 1st March 2007, and you will have until the 30th March 2007 to do so. This is 60 days (2 months) after connection.
Instalment 2 - You will need to claim 4 months from connection and you have 30 days from this date to submit your claim. Send us your claim form and monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected to. (This bill must be no older than 28 days when we receive it and have no balance brought forward.)
Instalment 3 - You will need to claim 6 months from connection and you have 30 days from this date to submit your claim. Send us your claim form and monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected to. (This bill must be no older than 28 days when we receive it and have no balance brought forward.)
Please note: You will be required to send your bills within defined date ranges based on the date your handset was connected and despatched. When you place a successful order these dates will be detailed in ‘your account’ linked on our website.
Basically my following letter describes my problem in detail
    Dear Sir or Madame;

With regard to my letter from 19 September 2008 (see attachment) I have sent you my claim for the second installment for the abovementioned Cheque Back Offer. This letter has been sent to you on 22 September 2008 by recorded delivery (I have the proof of delivery) and it reached you on 25 September 2008. I have attached the following documents to my letter from 19 September 2008:

    1. The Cashback Claim Form

    2. A copy of the the most recent bill which is the one after 4 months of my purchase
on 10 May 2008 – following exactly your cashback rules.

    3. A copy of your Cashback claims rules.

Since I have ported my phone number I have also attached:

    4. A copy of the first bill (invoice / bill date 15 May 2008)

    5. A letter from Virgin Mobile (14 July 2008) confirming the transfer of my phone
    number.

Now, with regard to your letter from 25 September 2008 which I have received on 29 September 2008 you are claiming that I “have not claimed within the correct claim period”.

Your claim is wrong! According to your offer information (see attachment) for the second installment I need to claim 4 months from connection. This is the bill from 15 September 2008! I have sent this bill to you with all mentioned attachment on 22 September 2008. So the time frame is correct!
Also, I have followed strictly all your Cashback claims rules. My claim for the second installment is correct.

Therefore your reasons for refusing my claim for the second installment for the abovementioned Cheque Back Offer are not acceptable. You made a mistake.

I have phoned your company OneStopPhoneShop up – your colleague, Mr NOTEVERYHELP CHAP, claimed that I have to send in the bill from August 2008 instead of September 2008 then I would receive my cashback. I regard his claim as contrary to the cashback rules. Nevertheless I am attaching the bill from August 2008.

Now, I urge you to send my cheque as soon as possible to my abovementioned address.
I have attached all documents and the letter from 19 September 2008 of my first attempt to claim the second installment.

If you are still rejecting my claim I will get in touch with trading standards.

In case that I need to contact trading standards I have made a copy of this letter and all attachments.

This letter is sent to you by recorded delivery.

    Yours sincerley,
    XYZ
But again I've received a letter from OneStop Phone Shop where they claim
    Dear Ms XYZ,

We have your cashback claim; however the bill you have sent us is the incorrect bill for this claim period...
They have just ignored my bill from August 2008 and returned the one from September 2008!

Anyway, I'm really upset now. Can I just go to a solicitor and ask him to take OneStop PhoneShop to court? In case I win OneStop PhoneShop has to cover the court and solicitor costs, right? Or should be the first step to go to trading standards?

I admire the detail, so in your case (since you at least do seem to have spent your own time making sure you understood it all first instead of coming on here and expecting others to do that for you, as many do!) I will try to advise.

    First, Onestopphoneshop IS E2Save.

Second, it is extremely common for them to ignore ALL claim date windows and say you've missed them - even when you've met ALL of them (which they constantly try to change anyway). The Virgin sim offer is also notorious - though I'm surprised you got 6 months free that recently on it. Anyhow...

Four months from your connection date (which I am taking as 10th May) is 10th september. 30 days from that date is 10th October. You sent the bill dated 15th September and you can prove (and they aren't disputing this for a change) that it arrived on 25th September, fully complying with the t&c.

Now, I'm surprised they are sticking to the "out of claim period" rubbish - when correctly challenged they usually try to invent a completely unconnected reason for rejection OR start asking you to re-send things.

You have wasted enough time on this. NEVER call them - as you have found, it just wastes your time and money and winds you up. DON'T waste your time either with Trading Standards - and certainly DON'T pay a solicitor. At worse, use any legal assistance insurance you have - but that takes forever and you lose a degree of control. No, send a LBA to the registered address and name (probabaly cpw T/A either Onestopphoneshop or E2Save) from the website (About Us as I recall), giving them 7 days to pay up. Tell them what you will do if they don't (i.e. commence legal procedings) and don't talk about Trading Standards etc. Check out the moneyclaim website - it's pretty straightforward, cheap and effective. Expect them to say they will defend (which buys them an extra 2 weeks to delay things), then make you an offer (probably) and put in an absolute nonsense defence which really OUGHT to be struck out. When you write the particulars of claim, put in some specific details (their defence won't address any of them and therefore should be struck out, even if it isn't - certainly won't harm your case). Don't expect to have to go to court (but be fully organised and prepared to, making sure your case is clear, unequivocal and proveable). They will do the rest themselves - making their own case more and more ridciulous until the last thing they want to have to appear in court to defend, where they will undoubtably be shown up for what they are.

    I rest my case...

There is a post on a LBA on there too. I am going to past this reply on there, since it will (or should) help many more people with this totally dishonest and disreputable company. When I started that thread they were the opposite - so another groundrule to bear in mind is, DON'T be complacent. Just because a dealer is currently superb (and there is still one - obviously not this outfit!) doesn't mean it will ALWAYS be so. You must treat these organisations according to the way they treat their customers NOW - which is why CPW - and E2Save in particular - is a company to be avoided unless you REALLY know what you're doing AND are prepared to call their bluff, ignore their utter stupidity and use the courts if needbe to obtain YOUR money.
