Girlies.....jacklink is a troll. Comes on now and again with questions like this to try and get an argument going..also uses another name and changes sex sometimes:eek:

Don't rise to this unless you are looking for a bit amusement!!!;)
I was starting to think that this was made up.I just couldn t get my head round who she is girlfriend or friend of couple.
I was quite annoyed as she then on my comments went and started another thread on the subject called "would you pay for children that aren t yours" .
No other details given,i presume this is to get the replys she wishes to hear.
I just wish i was clever enough to put a link in to this thread so that posters had the background as to why she was asking.
I was genuinally trying to help her until it started to unravel.
PS any-one who can add links ,i would appreciate these two threads having a link for posters info .
Thanx for your info on op glad to know i wasted my time ;)

Tax credits would be payable for a family on £180 per week with one of them being disabled - taking up household income.

Is the £65 inclusive of arrears or weekly payment? If the latter, then it is wrong as the NRP has a net weekly income of less than £200 so the payments would be about £25 per week.

the family also paid extra expenses as you say, there is over £1000 worth of teenage gifts in cupboard, xmas presents refused ect
First of all, sell these on ebay. It's coming up to Christmas, you'll get a good few hundred pounds from these.

    sorry question still stands,

    £180 a week wages
    £65 csa
    £75 rent
    £25 council tax
    how does one live ?

So the rent and council tax = £100pw, thats £50pw for hubby and £50pw for you.

So out of hubby's £180 he has to pay, £65 CSA payments and £50 rent & council tax (=£115), leaving £65pw for his half of the bills (gas, electric, food etc).

What you have to pay, is your half of the rent and council tax (£50) and half the rest of the bills (gas, electric, food etc). You don't have to pay towards the CSA payments, you just need to pay your half of the rent and bills as you are living together.

If its easier, set up a joint account with your hubby and both pay the exact same amount in every week/month and get all the joint bills paid from this account. This account would be seperate from your personal bank account and your hubby's personal bank account. The CSA payments would come out your husbands bank out and anything you buy would come out of your bank account... but all the bills and the rent would come out the joint back account.

As husband and wife the financial responsibility of joint resources (place you both live, food you both eat, electricity you both use etc) should be shared when possible.

    Good Luck
