Royal Mail Surveys

Thank you so much for this, I was really concerned that somehow this company had got hold of my details via the survey. The first couple of letters I received only had one of the test initials and stupidly it didn't even occur to me that it was a test item. Yesterday when it arrived with both initials I was quite concerned that my details had been passed on

Thanks again for putting my mind at rest
You are very welcome.

I've had these as well and again it just didn't occur to me that they were test items
had one today that looked as though it was from the tax man when I opened it I realised it was a test item , made me panic though lol0 -
Appertaining to the posts from deedums & sunrise27, where both have had mail with only one of their test initials, I think it is time to inform Kantar that companies they are using are not conforming to regulations set down by Kantar, I have also received mail with only one initial. Some panelists may get worried that random companies have their personal details without their prior knowledge.Like good food and drink?

I regularly receive test items from the Tax Office - sometimes wonder what my postie thinks! - but they always have both test initials.0 -

I did actually email Kantar to that effect this morning and have had a reply thanking me. It made me feel a bit better

Thanks luckycharlie & LittleVoice for your replies.
I can't believe I have been doing it wrong for so long.
Also after reading this thread I thought I'd better check the Love to shop Vouchers as I have saved them all up and did you know they have a use by date on them... I'd better get spending.... lol...The art is not in making money, but in keeping it!!!0 -
The use by date is pretty long though.
I often get various brochures with my test initals on, they don't have a 'R' number and never appear on my schedule. I simply return them to Kantar unopened. I have never had a problem doing this.
Items that appear to be 'junk' mail with your test initals on are not to be responded to I always thought.[STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]

I never respond to them anyway, but I know a lot of panellists may get worried as to how companies get hold of your address details.welshdeedee wrote: »The use by date is pretty long though.

I wonder whether they actually know about the items without an R-number which don't appear on their lists and which we return after 3-4 weeks.
Given that we no longer are required to mark items with a yellow sticker, how do they spot the extra items? I can't believe they go through every large polybag envelope to see precisely what is in there every week when there is no automatic way of flagging up that our returns have unknowns in them. I thought they just stored the return envelopes in case there was a query or perhaps opened them on a sampling basis.
I haven't checked FAQs though to see if this is addressed. I don't suppose it is because it is their internal system and nothing supposedly to do with the monitors (us).0
