I wonder whether they actually know about the items without an R-number which don't appear on their lists and which we return after 3-4 weeks.

Given that we no longer are required to mark items with a yellow sticker, how do they spot the extra items? I can't believe they go through every large polybag envelope to see precisely what is in there every week when there is no automatic way of flagging up that our returns have unknowns in them. I thought they just stored the return envelopes in case there was a query or perhaps opened them on a sampling basis.

I haven't checked FAQs though to see if this is addressed. I don't suppose it is because it is their internal system and nothing supposedly to do with the monitors (us).

Ive just looked and all it says for items without R numbers is:

<LI style="tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6" class=MsoNormal>You will need to hold onto any items which are not yet appearing online and try and enter them the following day. If after 3 weeks the item is still not appearing online you will need to return it to us in one of our large grey plastic return envelopes.

That's what I remembered reading, lannyloo. There's no way of telling them on line about these items without R numbers which don't appear on their lists. There could be lots of post which has been received with our test initials and is now sitting in large poly envelopes which they don't open to find that the addresses have been compromised.

But I could be wrong about what happens in their offices!

If I were concerned about post being received that didn't appear on the list or have an R-number, I think I would email an alert to them.

I think this is a really good point, we should let them know of anything that is a bit dubious (eg only one initial, the address not quite as it should be etc) because it could be that business users are collecting our contact details for marketing purposes. I've had a few from well-known companies that have sent me additional stuff after just one that was a bone fide survey item - and think Kantar should be made aware of this as they can't possibly monitor what's in the grey envelopes.

I'm going to follow deedums example and let Kantar know when it happens from now on. (I've got 2 sitting waiting to appear now on the list -been there for a couple of weeks so doubt they'll show now )

On another point, does anyone know of any other similar work to this? I like doing it but after all the additional postings am absolutely awash with stamps - I want to keep doing it as the stamps are great and I've used them - and spare labels - for charity work I do - but it would be great to have a different reward - it ceases to be an incentive when you have so many!

    Thanks

I wish I was doing the mis-delivery this week as I got a mis-delivered item this morning, instead of *9 ********* Road it was addressed *9 ********* Place. Luckily I knew who the person was on the envelope, and took it round to them.
    Like good food and drink?
    Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

I'm doing the misdelivery survey next week, and have had 2 misdeliveries this week. It kind of seems a waste doesn't it? LOL

It happens a lot to me, when I am not doing the mis-delivrey I get door-stepped items, and when I do the survey everything is the way it should. :D
