Just seen this in the News & features section

    March Incentive Stamps:
For this month only, we are returning to giving our panellists the incentive of 18 x 1st Class Letter stamps. We apologise for any confusion that this causes.
We intend to revert to the standard incentive of 12 x 1st Class + 4 x 1st Class Large Letter stamps for April

Shame as the "normal" stamps would be a lot more useful here

    They are free. Stop complaining.
I prefer the large letter stamps as they are good for cards.

I agree, i use the normal stamps for letters and the larger ones to send out cards. The larger ones will definately come in handy towards Xmas:beer:
  • Got my first class stamps today:j has the design changed on them?with two paperclip shapes cut into them:confused:

This is the new design for 2 reasons :-

1 - to stop people reusing any that haven't been franked
2 - to stop people collecting them

This was for all new stamps coming into force from April, the cost of the stamps has also gone up by 3p each (I think).

I'm not complaining, just asking a question, why would i complain i've been doing the survey over twelve month now.Well, have they changed the design on the ones you have received this week,or anyone else?

Did you get the new design in this weeks post??? I usually get mine on a Friday, but ill let you know if its a new design
  • Why will it stop people collecting/saving them?

how cant anyone re-use them with the new design?

When collectors take them off the envelope now it will leave part of it behind (the paperclip bit) same if you try take them off to reuse them unless you reuse the envelope too????

I've read this somewhere, link here

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/feb/17/darwin-stamps-royal-mail

    read down til it says

Royal Mail also issued a separate set of tamper-proof stamps today, which have improved security features to stop users peeling used stamps from envelopes which have not been franked and reusing them.
Part of a sticky film covering the stamp will remain on the envelope and thwart fraudsters. The new stamps will also be printed on the same tamper-proof paper used for currency. They are called the Machin stamps, named in honour of the (late) artist Arnold Machin, who created the classic image of the Queen which features on British stamps and coins.
A spokesman said the new stamps would be sent out to around 55,000 retailers from today.
He said: "The design has two panels printed on the stamp. The panels remain behind when a stamp is peeled off an envelope. The stamps are also printed on special paper which is designed to improve security."
