Half past four? is that not a wee bit late to get your mail? I thought all mail had to be delivered by 3PM.

Although it annoys me that the mail is delivered so late (even 3pm is a little late in the day in my honest opinion) I thought that it was only 'late' if it wasn't delivered at all! And what control can you have over what time your post is delivered anyway?! It annoys me because I feel that if I am waiting for something important, that either needs to be, or that I could, deal with on the day it arrives, it's sometimes a little too late for me to be able to do anything about it - now if it's a Saturday it can be a long wait until Monday!! Moan/rant over!!
  • my welcome pack came today, which is good, i have got this months stammps:)

Can i ask why people who are sending their welcome pack items are using the yellow stickers, these are not needed for the first ones are they?

    Also whats a SMART?

final question, around the corner is a small shop, and inside at the back of the store is the post office, would you say this is a sub post office, and can i use the post box outside for items that have to be sent from a post box and from the post office(the register a postbox site says its located at a post office)?

    thanks

Yellow stickers are needed for items that come without a 'R' number. Usually these are in the form of a magazine for me.

A SMART is a small device, orange on one side with a four letters on it, used for monitoring mail in the system. You have to record when you receive and send them.

I always use the postbox outside my Post Offices and yours sounds like a sub PO.

    I hope this helps!!

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a call from Kantar? I got a call the other day asking if everything was ok and was there anything they could do for me??? But I said everything was fine. I've been with them for well over a year and this is a first!

You will be asked to use a yellow sticker if you get a test item without an R number or an 'unexpected' mailing such as a magazine which isn't listed on the website. You attach a yellow sticker and write on it the number you are told to via the website.

A SMART is a device you use after your training period, you will find them sent to you in received items and then use your stock as it builds up to both use in sending items out when requested on the postal schedule and to return to RI when requested via the website. It basically tracks the route the mail takes to ensure it is going the most efficient route I think.

From the description I would say that you can put the post office at the back of the store as a sub post office and use the post box outside for mailings requested to be made at both a post box and a post office. Maybe ideally you should use a different post box for 'post box' items, but I would say that it would be technically fine to use for both.

From the websites FAQ (which are very helpful):
8.Where do I post my test items?
If you take part in the survey from home, you should post your items in a post-box anywhere within your postcode area. This is any post-box with a post-box id that begins with the first letter(s) of your postcode. Remember, if this is your first time using a specific post-box, you must take note of the post-box ID and enter it onto our system
Your posting plan will instruct you whether the item should be posted in a post-box or at a post office. Please note that if the plan instructs you to post in a post office, the post-box outside of the post office is acceptable.
    12. Do I need to hand my test items over the counter at the Post Office?
No you do not need to hand them over the counter, it is fine to post them in the post-box outside.
    13. Do I use the post-box inside or outside the Post Office?
It is fine to post them in the post-box outside.
    31. I have a test item without an 'R' number insert. How do I proceed?
Follow the usual procedure when entering the item on line by clicking on 'Receive any items to enter'

Enter the day it was received but instead of entering the 'R' number click the box 'No test letter insert found'.The system will then issue you with a 4 digit number which you will need to write on one of the yellow labels we provide before affixing the label to the outside of the item and returning it to us.

a). If the Item is a Magazine specified in the list displayed online:

In the case of a magazine select the title from the list provided and click the 'Next' button. Select the correct issue date or click ''issue date not shown'' If you click 'date not shown' a reference number will appear
Please write this number clearly on a yellow label and affix to the received item. Continue entering the item as usual.
b). If the Item is not specified in list displayed online:
In the case of a magazine select title from the list provided
    • Click Other
    • Click Next button
    • a reference number will appear
Please write this number clearly on a yellow label and affix to the received item. Continue entering the item as usual.

The training section will be more specific about SMARTS, or contact RI on the contact details - email or phone.

Had a call a while back (before Christmas, maybe before December!) asking about a resolve queries I'd had to do, to confirm some details, but other than that they've never rung me! It's nice of them to make sure you're coping ok though?

We've had post at 7.30pm once, and it is usually about 2.30pm. Although it has been a bit earlier this week. I was pleased to have a test mail in the 7.30pm delivery, so at least Royal Mail know that this is going on.

I was constantly messed about with this

I received everything then posted a couple of things then got an email to say my area was fully subscribed but would keep my name on a list

2 weeks later i got another email saying are you still interested, so i said yes received some more stuff, posted a couple of things then another email to say my area was full again and would keep my name on a list.

couple of days later another email to say that the previous email was a mistake and to keep on posting stuff.

3 weeks later another email to say that my area was full again!!!

Its been a couple of months and i'm still receiving random magazines weekly!!

    Complete pain in the bum!!
