I used ww.freightsearch.co.uk a couple of times but anything over 15kgs seems to be charged at the £8.39 price. They still have a cheaper price displayed for parcels under 15kgs so good for that anything that size

the usual stuff i send is guitar amps so with www.parcelbroker.co.uk who are £7.99 plus vat for up to 30kgs with DHL

I still think you have to use a mixture of all the brokers out there to get the best package and obviously there is a lot of personal preference depending on the support you get from the supplier and what your product is.

    Thanks for that.

I've been viewing this forum for the last couple of months and using the advice....and now I've joined in!

I used to weigh and measure all my parcels until I saw the standard DHL size on the front page and, as all mine are under 30kgs and those measurements, I just used an average. That will teach me!

Thanks. For thickies like me £7.99 plus VAT = £9.19 .Just in case you want a total. Have all the £7.99 total parcel companies gone?
  • How have you managed to use that 750 as the website says collections aren't available till Monday?

On the 1st December it was £6.50, then I booked on the Tuesday for collection Wednesday then it jumped to No collections until 8th December now it says 9th December.

Are they reaching their limit and saying no more until the next day?
  • Their website has returned but you can't book on it?
  • recently i have used the post office for most of my parcels, until things are clearer i'm happy paying the extra couple of quid or so.

Been really really stupid and not realised that my Oboe would be over the 2kg Royal Mail will accept so need some way of sending it. Looking on here there seems to be a lot of companies and some warnings about some of them. I am only going to be sending this 1 parcel so not likely to use them again.

    Dimensions are 40cm x 32cm x 27cm.
    2.9kg
    Destination Italy
    Value £165

I can take it to my husbands business address to be picked up as I can see home pick ups can be difficult.

Anyone got an idea who I should use? Which ones are reliable.

    Many thanks for your help.

For me Interparcel are most reliable, Parcel2Go are OK as well as far as I heard

Booked a parcel to go by Discount Delivery UK last week. They were to collect on Wed, but in the afternoon received a call to say the van had broken down and would collect on Thursday.
Thursday came and went without any sign of collection. After emailing to query I was told that without fail it would collect on Friday.
    Guess what? Yep no collection.
So I emailed to ask them to cancel the order and received a refund.
Have now booked Freight Search to collect on Monday on the 24hr service as the parcel must be delivered by Tuesday.
It would have been cheaper with Royal Mail but I'd rather pay a bit extra for pick up and a 24hr delivery service.
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time
