Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread MK3

Booked a parcel to go by Discount Delivery UK last week. They were to collect on Wed, but in the afternoon received a call to say the van had broken down and would collect on Thursday.
Thursday came and went without any sign of collection. After emailing to query I was told that without fail it would collect on Friday.
Guess what? Yep no collection.
So I emailed to ask them to cancel the order and received a refund.
Have now booked Freight Search to collect on Monday on the 24hr service as the parcel must be delivered by Tuesday.
It would have been cheaper with Royal Mail but I'd rather pay a bit extra for pick up and a 24hr delivery service.
I paid Freight Search for a 24hr delivery service using DHL. My parcel spent a whole day in a depot 20 miles away from the destination address.
I complained to Freight Search who followed it up and apparently DHL were too busy that day.
Freight Search said that although I'd used and paid for the 24hr service there are no guarantees.....and no refunds!0 -
smartparcels had a deal on thair website £7.49 last tuesday like a mug I fell for it and booked 2 parcels in with them after 4 phone calls and as many e-mails they still have not been collected now claiming my refund through paypal and rebooked with directparceldistribution0

Although the DHLs 24hr service has something like a 98% success rate it is not guaranteed. freightsearch at no point come into contact or have anything to do with actual delivery of your parcel. Be thankful that it cost you £9'ish, oppose to £20+ if you had booked direct with DHL. Ultimately it's christmas; bussiest part of the year for any courier, so you you've got to have a bit of give a take.0 -

There was similar stories on the ebay forums over the weekend. My understanding was they are or at least was that they did having something to do with shafi, either way they will be going on the avoid list. Don't mean to bear bad news but I wouldn't expect anything from paypal; you paid for service and unfortunately that gives as much protection with paypal as a leaky umbrella.0 -
I don't often have many deliveries going out but I did have a spell with a fair few parcels of about 5kg so booked through parceltree. I paid and booked for 10 parcels all went perfect with delivery the next day. I paid for another 10 parcels but only used 4 before parceltree disapeared.
So my question is can I get a refund on the 6 credits I am due? I paid with my credit card but you don't get a receipt from parceltree or acknowledgement that you have prepaid.
I emailed parceltree and it was bounced back.Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Anyone have a cheap price for Bolivia, south america? 4.5kg, 45 x 35 x 25.
EDIT: best I've got so far is £68.59 from interparcel, DHL Parcel Express, after 5% sign up and 5% cashback.
EDIT 2: International Mail / wringtononlineworld is giving me £23.51 to rest of south america, but looks dodgier than a shafi run lapland park. any experience with em?0 -

Other places, DPD are still quoting the cheapest for international, also might be worth trying fireghtsearch.0 -
DPD don't mention anything about bolivia or south america. Tried FrightSearch and the site just said they'd email or phone with a quote. I'll take a better look at International Mail then0

I'd just drop them a email and see what they say- I'm sure they'll send there. Wrington's website isn't fantastic, but I think because it's only a side venture it's not really worth them spending thousands on it.0

The moral of story is don't use pre paid delivery vouchers, we learnt to our cost too.0
