After having just wasted an hour and a half of my life (once you pop you can't stop!) reading through 16 pages of mostly complaints and nonsense, I wonder why none of you haven't tried using any of the big couriers direct rather than constantly using these cheap dodgy resellers?!
Most of you seem to be sending parcels regularly so you'll most likely get a good deal. (sorry if you may have mentioned already using couriers direct in the other threads)
Personally I use City Link, you have to set up an account with them but it was easy enough. I pay £4.80+VAT for a parcel that can fit in their plastic bags, up to 15kgs. Documents up to 1kg are about £3.50 I think... parcels up to 30kgs are £6.70 plus VAT. It's all next day, and if they don't deliver next day you can claim double your money back. I've used them for about over a year now, and they've managed to lose about 3 parcels, which I claimed through their insurance and I've made about 6 double money back claims. I send between 20 and 50 parcels a week.
City Link did go through a stage of being 'Sh!tty Link' for me when the driver would be a different guy every day and they would press the wrong buzzer for my apartment, or go to the wrong address, then drive away when nobody answered. Then sometimes the driver would turn up hours late. But now I have the same driver and he turns up at 3.15 on the DOT every day and it's been all good :j
Unfortunately they're really expensive for offshore deliveries, so I usually use Interparcel for these ones - they seem to be the cheapest and have been reliable, with only a few failed collections. I tried parcel2go a few times, but I really can't be @rsed with their complicated booking system.
and before anyone asks, NO I do not work for City Link or Interparcel!!
There's my 2cents worth.0 -
fair point, but my DHL account made prices upto twice the price of PPW for the same service.
a lot depends on how many items you sell a week. when i set up DHL account when i first started my business they would ring me constantly to check how many orders i may be placing etc etc, way too much pressure.
i politely explained that passing on the prices they gave me meant i wasn't selling much, and that i had to look elsewhere.:grouphug:

After reading this thread (well, some of it) I decided to try out parcelcheap. My parcel was picked up less than hour later!0

I did get quotes from DHL and UPS (and maybe ParcelForce, I can't remember now) and they were quite expensive too, but City Link gave me a really good deal, and I never get any of those annoying sales calls now because my Account Manager from when I set the a/c up has left and I've not heard from the new one yet!0

cannot believe how much time i have spent searching for couriers.
After reading this site yesterday, I was recommended Rainbow Parcels. I booked 5 parcels with them and paid paypal.
No confirmation and the site is now down.  Parcels have not been collected - SURPRISE SURPRISE
I am now in search of someone else. None of these companies can be trusted in my eyes. They just take your money and run away...............0
