I always get my curling ribbon from ebay. No particular seller just the best deal. You can normally get 500 metre rolls for a good price. If you buy different colours from one seller they normally combine postage. xxx

I have picked up a 500m roll from a localish craft shop, however I went through a phase of not using much and the local florist charges me 2p a metre so I go in and get 20 metres a time to see me through, I also have a local cake shop who sells it and she charges 3p a metre :) ask in your local florist if you don't want a big roll.

Stormbreaker, I know what you mean about cost of the cones. I made my soup for presents. I was surprised to find only one UK seller on ebay!

I'd maybe try and pack into just one cone and keep them upright to half cone costs?

just tried one out with the powder (usually make them for sweets )had to put a bit more sellotape on bottom than usual but I think they look just as good as the pre bought cones at a fraction of the cost :money: , if you have any cello knocking about why not have a go before you buy some ?

Quick update on the Candy Cane price index :D

If you want canes in red white and green, then Morrisons have them £1.39 for 12 bogof - not as good as Wilkinsons red and white ones price-wise, but having seen them both, I think they're prettier and worth the extra 2p per cane
